Dying Light pistol wont leave my inventory

i upgraded it like people said, still doesn't work, what do i do?

In the early game, Dying Light is a quest item, IIRC. Is there a yellow dot with an exclamation mark on it? That indicates a quest item that you can't sell, disassemble, drop, etc.

It's been a while since I've gotten Dying Night new...I think it's just so you can't immediately sell or otherwise dispose of it. Does the gun work for you otherwise? it's pretty good at the start of the game.

The quest where you receive it is simple... the gun vendor in the Megabuilding of your first apartment calls you over ("sweet 45 is ready") when you approach the elevator. He identifies that the gun you dropped off is done and you purchase it for $0. The quest simply is called "The Gun".

well heres whats weird, the pistol is now no longer marked as a mission item, its now panems sniper
