The prologue should be skippable (at least the second time)
I've already started 10 new games, it's quite annoying having to replay the life path every time I want to start a campaign, especially Streetkid and Corpo, which have nothing but repeated dialogue.

There are lot's of moment in the game where fast dialogues don't work or you can't skip.
The issue isn't only in prologue...
I agree, it's what kills the replayability, interactive movies are fun the 1st time, not the 2nd...

I know, man. They must think we are all millionaire streamers who will only play once just for the story. The game doesn't even have a difficulty achievement.:steamsad:

There are things you can do to help with this.

I do this for the lifepath starts, but you can modify it to work for all of chapter 1 if you want (I have done this too)

Make your V (or 3, one for each lifepath, if you like to play all three)
Set the game difficulty to easy. Run thru the bare minimum to get thru the heist. No side quest's, no ncpd points ect. (Why I said go thru on easy setting)
Do not allocate points. Do not pick perks or skills. Do not waste money on gear, quickhack or cyberware.
Finish the heist. Wake up in the apartment in the shower.
Make a save, manually before you do anything else. Pick a point to look at when you do, this gives you a particular thumbnail to remind you.
(I tend to face the vending machine for my girls, and stare at the ceiling fan for my guys, so I could tell the difference before I got the mod 'named saves')

This save becomes you 'go to' save for that lifepath V.
You don't delete it, you can make a backup copy somewhere else in case too.
When you want to start again, you go back to that save.

You can now set your preferred difficulty level, allocate your attributes and perks and skill tree. Spend on your cyberware and gear. Pick your build and play.
And you don't have to play the heist again (unless you want to)

I have 9 of these, at the point of the start (Sandra Dorset)
My 3 guys look at the door of the car. My 6 girls look at Jackie. (Saves 0 thru 8 lol)
When I want to go all the way back, to start again, these are the saves I go back to.
But if I wanted to avoid the heist, I'd do the above method.

The prologue IS skippable. If you have Phantom Liberty installed and start a new game it lets you choose if you want to start from Phantom Liberty right away, skipping the prologue and then some without really losing anything.
I did a full playthrough like that and I didn't lose out on anything. Even if you want to complete the Stash Wall with all the missable weapons you can still buy them from the Black Market vendor in Dogtown. You don't even have to start playing the Phantom Liberty questline right away, you will just get the initial call from Songbird and then you're free to do whatever.
