Tetratronic Rippler phrasing question
"+40% damage with Combat quickhacks when immediately followed by a non-Combat quickhack in the queue"

This means first putting on a non-Combat / covert quickhack like Memory Wipe, then a combat one like Overheat or Short Circuit for the 40% extra damage on these latter ones, right? Would be pointless to put on covert quickhacks after a combat one, I suspect?

I like that you can use Memory Wipe first, then for example Overheat to finish them off without starting a trace, so I guess I understand it correctly, but just wanted to confirm.

I understand the Cyberdecks have been changed since release, and I couldn't find much info on the new specs when googling. My first playthrough.

(I should probably have posted this in the gameplay subforum, but busier here )

You need to use combat quickhack first and then non-combat one. Example: short circuit - overheat - memory wipe (+40%dmg). Also, as description says, You need to apply it immediately to the quick hack queue for it to aply this dmg effect.

You can also Queue Memory Wipe first then a combat quick hack followed by a Non-combat quick hack.

What yahboi1988 said also works of course. Also if You don't mind using mods then You can use Sonic Shock Restored mod which makes Sonic Shock work like it should. Right now there's a bug where after using Sonic Shock quickhack, enemies will trace You anyway.

I recommend waiting on mods. A new redstream drops on the 24th and then we will know when the next update is landing seeing as they will probably both fix it themselves and mods will break.

Thanks guys, but are you 100% sure this is what they mean? it sounds so illogical to use a non-combat quickhack after a combat one.

It could be interpreted as "extra damage on combat quickhacks when they're after non-combat ones in the queue". Or I guess perhaps not... :steamdeadpan: Then it would probably say "...when following a non-Combat..".

But you've probably done this research before, of course, so sorry for being stubborn! :steamlaughcry: (and non-English native speaker)

Anyway, the quickhacks seem more than powerful enough with or without the 40% extra, but I'm only playing on normal difficulty.

Been using the cyberdeck with extra damage over time and base damage for quickhacks until recently (Tech something?), but the 5 extra RAMs on the Rippler made me try it.

Not tried mods yet. Lvl 31 now, and just unlocked the part where I can go to the DLC area, but haven't gone yet. Would like to check out the new skill tree, so might as well go soon, unless it's recommended to wait until higher levels?

Thanks again!

When you unlock tier 4 quick hacks a lot of them gain extra effects and combos start to emerge.

Exactly what I thought too. Doesn't make sense. I was so confused that I decided to get another deck
Bjørn Jan 20, 2024 @ 2:29pm
I'm mainly using tier 4 already, so I've noticed, thanks. I especially like that the Memory Wipe breaks trace at tier 4 if used before a combat quickhack, which is why it was a pity with the 'wrong' order for the cyberdeck :steamsunny:

I guess all the combos make more sense when fighting cyberpsychos and other strong opponents, though, but for normal guys I tend to just Bait, Memory Wipe then Overheat, or simply Bait followed by a non-lethal thrown axe headshot. I take my time and do it all stealthy and non-lethal if I can.

I'm personally using fully upgraded Tetratronic Rippler MK 5 with Overclock. My go to combo is Sonic Shock - Short Circuit. This simple combo can get rid of many oponents in short amount of time. It's basically one shoting enemies. For more tanky oponents I use something like Sonic Shock - Short Circuit - Synapse Burnout - something to add 40%dmg like Ping. Pretty OP if You ask me.

Thanks for the tip! Won't Sonic Shock and Short Circuit trigger an all-round trace, though? Or do you throw in a Memory Wipe as well?

Heard good things about Overclock, and working towards it. Have 14 points in intelligence now, so getting there. Been thinking of respeccing since we had one opportunity to do so (I think?), but figured I'd wait until I get to that new skill tree from the DLC.

Ping sounds good for a follow up hack. I still have a tier 2 Ping in inventory so can save RAM. Still using low level Bait as well, except through cameras.

Good game!

To my knowledge both Sonic Shock and Memory Wipe prevent enemies from tracing You. So If I use Sonic Shock first, it's disabling enemies tracing skill, then any combat quickhacks I use on this enemy are not tracable.
I personally prefer to use Sonic Shock because it prevents trace on tier 3 and You need tier 4 Memory Wipe to do the same. Also memory cost of Sonic Shock is lower (4 on tier 3) than Memory Wipe (10 on tier 4) in terms of disabling tracing and it's also faster (Sonic Shock 1s vs Memory Wipe 1.5/10s on tier 3/4).
Also keep in mind that as I said earlier, Sonic Shock is bugged right now and doesn't work how it should, so I'm using Sonic Shock Restored mod.

Ah yes, thanks. I might check it out then, if Sonic Shock is actually bugged. Would certainly make things easier on the RAM usage to not use Memory Wipe to stop the trace.

I think I read in another thread that Sonic Shock has just been changed, like so many other things, and is working as intended already, though.

Do mods disable achievements? Not very important, but...

No, mods don't disable achivements in Cyberpunk 2077. I played my first playthrough with mods and got all achivements.

Using the same thread for another question about the Rippler. The tier 5 trait puzzles me a bit as well:

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3146553225

It automatically applies Reboot Optics and Weapon Glitch when using Overclock.

1. Do we need to have those quickhacks installed for it to use them? I don't normally have them installed. So if we don't have them installed, it would be nice if they didn't trigger automatically since...

2. Those two quickhacks start a trace and thus kind of break stealth, right? I haven't had Overclock for long, but I've mainly used it to be able to use Memory Wipe and a Combat hack on a few people close to each other at the same time, so that others aren't alerted.

...

3. Would perhaps another Cyberdeck be more useful for my kind of stealth play, then? :steamsunny: I got the Rippler mainly for the +5 RAM, but with Overclock that isn't alpha omega anymore. What about the Arasaka one? Is that good for stealth?

Thanks again for any tips.
