They tried to get headlights banned too for the same reason but was shut down on grounds of public safety. Guess have some standards there still.
no clue, would be nice tho. Someone in here saying is one eye mod does it but haven’t seen myself yet.
Because the developers don’t want you to have night vision/a flashlight.
It’s basically the one and only explanation. Physically from a development standpoint, adding a flashlight would be pretty simple since it’s just a light source stuck to the player’s head.
It’s extremely hard to believe they haven’t considered it (while the game was in development up until now +3 years from launch) so the only remaining option is that they decided against adding a flashlight or night vision for whatever reason.
Been using this along with auto loot and auto scraper. These mods are game changer to make it less tedious.
This mod works a treat. The game is still dark where the devs _want_ it to be dark, but it's great for low-light areas.
This game has a really big emphasis on light (or the lack of it) and colors. And nighvision/flashlights would ruin it. At least that the idea.
(Just in case you didnt know, there is a flashlight in game. You get it for exactly one mission and then its deactivated again)
That and the devs don't want us to have night vision or a flashlight. Considering the sheer amount of cyberware in this game though, including a scan, there's no reason for either not to be in the game, outside of a design decision.
Maybe considering even as of this week the hallway walk to meeting Dex flickers black nonstop unless you change one particular graphics setting, they were just terrified of having to QA test any lighting engine mechanics but your own.
Car headlights seem to do ♥♥♥♥ all when driving under a shadowy underpass in the day if you manually turn them on for giggles too.
Could be because a dynamic new light source out of nowhere would be too unpredictable for the Ray Tracing and Path Tracing methods to not generate glitches. Could be because attaching a light source or altering the viewport exposure and gamut levels on the fly would mess with the HDR implementations... there is no answer and no actual reason.
Go to Nexus. Download the flashlight mod[www.nexusmods.com]. Play.
It's just one of those simple small things devs don't do and keep refusing to do just because, or maybe because of ego or some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ explanation. People have been asking for a simple flashlight since launch.
But at least they gave us the means to mod, so there's at least that. "You don't like it? Here's the tools. Have fun..."
a night vision kiroshi cyberware is a no brainer though. i might just grab the mod.
