Driving a car
It feels like in real life you're driving on an icy road once you hit over 30 MPH, the traction the car has on the road is done poorly, along side the controls. You get some super cars in this game and I want to just hit the road at full speed and zoom by everything (But 9/10 you're not able to do it). The slightest tap of the controller or an outside force (Another car or getting attacked) and you end up free falling on a road like you were in a space game.

It's nearly impossible to recover once the car begins to lose control on a dry road as I have no idea whats going on as you hit the brakes and try your best to avoid everything. The only way to stop I've found is to hit a wall.

Yet the motor bike seems to be a better choice as it hardly ever loses control on the road or off road. Is this just a bad implication of driving in this game as you have older games with better driving and they aren't racing games. It's just a let down when you get a super car and you're driving like Mr Bean at 20 mph while on a road that lets you go 100 mph.

steering sensitivity=1
Inner deadzone=0
outer deadzone=1

I use a keyboard but i changed the controller settings as well just in case

1st person
response curve=raw
all bonuses set to 0

3rd person
response curve=raw

The 1st 3 is what really did it for me. I can drive 150mph in the streets downtown now. I actually prefer cars now vs the motorcycle. I hated driving cars before i made these changes. So out of control it was insane. I drive 1st person now and before which is a bit harder then 3rd person i think.

Cars in this game all suffer the same problem, the rear tire break loose with en the tiniest twitch of the controls. Best solution is just ride Scorps bike, it behaves like the cars should.

There's a mod that is supposed to help this but I can't get it to work.

With my settings the rear tires don't break loose with the tiniest twitch of controls.

Hey my first game crash. Was testing a bunch of video settings.

Solution to the problem.
Smooth wheel contact already enabled by default now. Min tilt angel is Vehicle/BikeHackTiltCalcValue = 50.000000 and it's for bikes but sure try 35 for bikes. Low stopping resistance enabled by default now. I've tried enabling and disabling differential and haven't noticed a difference. enable physicsccd i guess could be tried. I thought i tried and didn't notice a diff but i could be wrong. It won't change driveability. It may change how crashes behave or something completely diff i've no idea.

It has always been trash and people are really, REALLY defensive about it.

A few cars are slightly less trash, like the Javalina where you only cartoon oversteer 10% of the time and can actually pull out of a parking spot at speed or take a street corner at 60+ and touch tap the keyboard to maneuver between a minivan and an unmarked on the minimap cop car hoping you slam into them. (I know fan fave Coyote was decent, but I have deep rooted "But the Jav can handle city cornering/civilian dodging when I can't sleep better" feelings from launch)

Then right as I am thinking "Maybe I was overreacting and unfair to 2077-" I try another car and most of the time even a slower car might as well be driving on banana peels.

The new free to loot "Hoon" car which is basically a Javalina clone complete with the new machineguns feels pretty okay too... Honestly I get the feeling the Quadra 66 line in general was popular for a reason.

I can drive a car but can't figure out how to use the guns that some have.

For the most part with me, the answer there is "Works for me!... But I do not use them because shooting a car trying to kill me in a mission makes all the extra cops hate me instead of them"

See also, getting excited about vehicle hacks "Aw man those 'drag on for an extra minute or two' car chase missions are going to stop being miserable on replays now that I can just hack their emergency brakes-of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ course they are immune..."
