How to Reset Save Counter?

How can I reset the save counter to 0? I've done it at least once before so I know there's a way but it was years ago and I dont remember the trick anymore.

I know it's stupid. I know it doesn't matter. If that's your entire contribution to the resolution of my plight, I acknowledge your supremacy. You may now move along.

I can't help it. The power of OCD Compels me. It is irritating to me to have my earliest save be "Manual Save Number 34"

I deleted EVERY single save, even the automated ones. And it will STILL notch the save counter up one from whatever the last save was when I do my next save.

How do I make the game save counter start back at 0?

save your current save on 0, then delete then rest

or delete all saves from the main menu, then start new game

You would also need to delete your cloud saves on steam or they will come back.

Hi OP. Did you ever get to fix this save counter glitch? I’m having the same problem recently. I just wanna reset the counter to “manual save-0”.

Has anyone tried rolling back to 1.63 Legacy, then, after deleting saves, patching to 2.0+?

Asking because I was in the 200's numbers for 1.61 but when I removed those to safe storage and patched to 2.02 (what was current when I got Phantom Liberty)
The counter reset to 0.
(Which was perfect! So I went thru the startup for my 9 different Vs to get 'manual save' 0 thru to 8 lol....)

I know I'm late to this, but I think I found a solution. If you navigate to the location of your save files you can change the name of your manual save folder to manual save-0. When you go in game and overwrite that manual save, it will change from whatever it was, 34 in your case, to 0.

The path to my save files is:
C:\Users\username\Saved Games\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077
