Ah thats ok then, I haven't looked into it at all - I've decided that today's trailers etc show way too much so I've made a choice to basically not watch trailers ever again haha. I just wasn't sure if required, or recommended, a higher level character. So when is best to start it, based on it's story, please no spoilers, before doing the last missions of the base game or after?
Also if you have finished all the "main"-side quests but i suppose you did that already at the point of no return.
You can unlock secret a ending for the base game so be best to finish it before finishing the base game also there is a whole new area to explore that after finishing the prologue you can travel in and out of freely, quests, cars, additional relic upgrade tree, additional new ending and few other things. It takes place during/alongside the main story-line from vanilla game so even if you are in the middle of a PL mission you are still free to travel anywhere in Night City.
I haven't started the point of no return mission, I have it ready to start but kept it to the side until I knew when I should be playing Phantom Liberty.
Ah that's great. Thank you so much for taking the time to help! It's been a while since I got a new game for Christmas - given that I'm 38 years old haha - so I'm going to continue smashing out the side gigs etc and then treat myself to the DLC for Christmas before I finish the base game!
No worries, I just started a brand new game after 2.1 released, I am enjoying it a lot, see you in NC Choom!
