Every good magician leaves the audience wanting more.
That’s true.🙂
So many devs try to create games without end and fail because the live service model sucks. These guys have created a game and world i want to keep living in. It’s all down to the people incredible story telling.
All we can do is sincerely hope they wont make the same mistakes again and deliver us great sequel, until then we'll just have to be satisfied with at least one very good expansion.
5 years from now the best game of the world will release.
CYBERPUNK 2.
Well, most of us would.
Doing 2 playthroughs of the main game you probably tried playing both Valerie and Vincent, alternative ways (alliances) to do some quests, 2 of the origin stories and 2 basic archetypes. Although you can (are encouraged to) do all endings on the same character (via "just one more gig" choice in the end) and you can experiment with wide range of builds on the same character too, I strongly recommend playing at least one more character from the start, especially if you feel like playing more CP2077.
All 3 origin stories are worth checking out, you can also try different builds early on (in late game 2 characters are almost enough for that - a hacker with 20 Int and 'everybody else' with 3 int and just 2 points missing from one of the other attributes) and starting from a scratch in the base game will probably feel a bit different in 2.1, even compared to recent 2.0. Also, be sure to play through all 4 endings of PL - either on different characters or by saving and reloading at key moments.
And if that is still not enough - I have one more playthrough in mind I plan to try myself - no chrome playthrough. It will remove a lot of fun with the builds so it is definitely not something to go for before you tried all viable builds but it will be interesting change, quite a bit of a challenge with armor now mostly tied to chrome (probably require lower difficulty, especially to confront Smasher 2.1) and without spoiling anything... finishing PL motivated me to try that.
Have fun in Night City and around.
Yep, switching engines is the major reason why there won’t be a second expansion. Changing engines isn’t like changing a pair of socks where you simply peel off your old socks put on a new pair. As far as game development goes, changing engines is a massive, massive decision that affects developer workflow from top to bottom. With a change to this major, it’s definitely better to start early to get the trivial issues and problems out of the way and gather experience.
That being said, I don’t think it’s strictly impossible for CDPR to port their existing REDengine assets to Unreal 5. There’s likely a method they can use. Probably.
they could continue to make expansions until Cyberpunk 2 is almost ready to launch. I think people would buy them if they were quality work.
I am the same wish we got more, but they already moved on to new engine.
If you need more cyberpunk style games until the next game try Shadowrun Returns.
I don’t know if i’m the only one who experiences this but when i go into the menu to save or check my map etc… and then return to the game, the game sort of freezes and for a few seconds, my frame rate drops, and then rebounds. Happens every time. Wish i could quicksave to avoid menus.
