warning: 2.0 is a massive disappointment for your old save.
they absolutely gutted all the weapons, especially comrades hammer. the perk system is more convoluted and they moved all the perks around. spending hundreds of hours in a game and building up a save for phantom liberty and then finally loading up that save to play it and finding out everything you worked for is totally ruined is a slap in the face. i don't even want to play it now.

You can have a sci-fi pump that heals bulletwounds and arms that punch robots to death, but expect a bunch of "inconvenience = challenge(?)" minded gamers to scream at you that stamina costs for shooting guns is super realistic or you just want a power fantasy when defending yourself from cyborg super ninjas.

I feel the exact opposite. I've been playing on console and GOG. I had mixed feelings about the base game. The 2.0/2.1 update has actually greatly improved the underlying RPG elements as well as adding a new chunk of story.

You are free to like or dislike whatever you choose, but I personally think they changes were needed and mostly well done.

100% completely incorrect.

The 2.0 update is amazing and best update so far.

Troll harder.

tell me you never played the game before this without telling me you never played the game before this.

taking a weapon from 4k damage with a native thermal damage buff - it's entire characteristic as a weapon, and bringing it to 400 dmg ruins it. they ruined everything about the skill tree as well...forcing you to divert points into a trait you wouldn't necessarily put into....like the cool tree. which limits to how high you can level up things because depending on your character style you can run out of points before maxing out your desired traits and weapons. or how about completely nerfing all your weapons, resetting all of your perks (which they don't tell you until you load up the progression page) and then INSTANTLY send random cars of aggro baddies at you at your level that you have no hope to defend against because everything has been reset.

I know it's just my opinion, but it seems weird to do that. I never expect 'old' saves to make it through big patches, I always start a new save for things like that. /shrug

The damage wasnt reduced, they reigned in the numbers. What used to take 4000 damage to kill something, now takes 800, and they scaled everything back accordingly.

The weapons I used to one-shot things in 1.6, still one-shot things in 2.0, the numbers were just changed to be more manageable.

Not all the changes were stellar, but overall, 2.0 was a MASSIVE improvement on the combat front.

Its been awhile since i played so I cant exactly remember the old talent trees and skills but im enjoying this one. Quickhacks, pistols and grenades. Destroys ♥♥♥♥, and I love Johnnys gun. Feels like a tiny little bolter.

And my last playthrough had blunt weapon and movement speed perks. Punching people to death is always fun with apogee sandevistan and synaptic accelerator. plus both had full tech so fully cyberwared up.

Yeah? I've been quite apprehensive about sending my old hacker V from v1.5 into v2.1-land, and this isn't helping.

"Look at me kids, I am playing Cyberpunk after 2 months from release of 2.0 and going to rant"

That is how I summarize the post, you are late on the band wagon, now you can not join Samurai
Personally I think the new talent tree is actually way better and more like a tree, thou still some skills are kinda underwhelming. I think it has way better presentation and many skills feel more meaningful.

What comes to the game resetting your skills (which obviously has to happen when there was a skill tree overhaul, because what would they allocate your skill points to? preset allocation sounds way worse idea in my opinion.) and getting killed because you didn't have skill points allocated. Just reload a save, set those skillpoints and problem solved? Doesn't sound like an issue to cry over about.

Does any one else miss such great and redundant perks like the one that allowed you to perform take downs in water?
