Cyberpsychos, how to incapacitate
Specifically, how can I tell if I incapacitated or killed them. I get that there's no 'stun' weapon that works on them so I should feather my last attacks until they go down, but how can I tell if I knocked them unconscious or outright killed them?

This is the way I do it.

Cyberpsychos seem to lose a lot of energy when you get them down below 3-4%. I generally have a low-power pistol equipped to knock them down that last couple of percent. Single shots and STOP when they keel over. Until you are good at this, do a quicksave before engaging them. In the final analysis, it doesn't make much difference if you deliver them all alive to Regina...the reward for doing so (at least before 2.1) was paltry. Maybe it's higher now.

Use the cripple movement quickhack. It's makes the Cyberpycho mission easy as pie. You just run behind them and choke them out.

Any Cyberpsycho I have managed to knock unconscious will be laying face-up, with their right arm beside them at a 90-degree angle and their left arm going across their torso. They will be moving slightly to indicate breathing. The best way to achieve this is two ways:

Use something in the environment to distract them, then sneak up behind the psycho and do a non-lethal takedown. For some psychos this won't work because they are instantly aggro once you enter the scene.

Attack them all you want, but once they get down to 10-15% health, use Overheat or a poison grenade to finish the job. The DoT always leaves a person passed out instead of killing them outright.

i use the same katana i use to kill everything else, black unicorn, and i wack them down to 1% hp and they just fall down and i make sure i dont hit them anymore and that does the trick. works not just on cyberpsychos but on other storyline fights where people ask you "please dont kill this person theyre my friend" or whatever.

Can just use wipe memory or whatever the quickhack is called, then casually run behind them and press X on controller or whatever it is on keyboard to initiate the choke hold, then choose the non-lethal option. Very easy this way, can even aggro them right off doesnt matter.

Okay, I didn't notice it in comments, but there is a small gold rhombus (diamond shape) that will flash on a screen when they are "Eliminated" and then a larger red rounded square when they receive the kill shot.

Anything non-lethal is lethal if you can't pull that last punch after the gold rhombus.

you can 100% non lethal them by using stealth or damage over time stuff. just DO NOT hit them after they're on the ground

There is only one solution that actually matters and it was given in the first post. When you turn in the mission either your character or Regina will state it was successfully done non-lethal via text message. There is absolutely zero point checking a body for a mission you will turn in 5 seconds later anyways so ignore all those tips completely they're pointless.

The most reliable way to non-lethal and avoid any glitches is to choke hold them and non-lethal from behind. This works even on the ones that camo as long as you disable the camo with the quickhack then immobilize with the other hack and run up behind (if you don't do this they will not have a prompt to grab from behind).

Be warned, there are other glitches with the Cyberpsychos like permanent battle music (and no, either Joy doll fix doesn't work anymore or it may not work in some instances forcing you to reload an old save before this) so it is best to save before you even begin to tackle them with a manual save always, regardless. Once you're sure everything completed and no glitch and mission is turned in you can do another manual save.

As was mentioned prior you can do lethal dmg for all but the last percent of the health bar, like throwing an axe at their face or sniping, for huge chunks of dmg and then resort to easier takeouts but this should be rarely necessary because the prior mentioned solution of just grabbing them and knocking out from behind is almost always possible.

they die pretty dead when I just use full force so I don't think that is correct what he said

its true, i was obsessed with finding a pax mod and couldnt find one, but found out by accident that i could just use my normal katana to incapacitate cyberpsychos and others i didnt want to kill, and went on a knockout spree through the whole game. at 1% hp they all go incapacitated, fall to the ground, and its not even difficult in most circumstances to notice and stop attacking.

Before it did have a weapon mod name Pax and some weapons that were stating to be non lethal. Blunt weapons usually cause no lethal damage. Like Bats, Batons, pipes I carry a bat with me through the entire game whenever I had to take someone out without killing them. You do have to be careful not to hit them anymore times. When close to the end of the health.
Bodies will still be moving in agony on the ground or just have the eyes open and moving a little. Can't remember if scanning can identify it as well. think some cases it does.
Do have remember when sticking bodies in lockers or crates when hiding them. Will automatically kill them.
