questions about the monowire after 2.0
ok so does it still count as a blade for perks? or is it a tech weapon now? is it both? its so confusing and CDPR has neve outright said them selvs and the info I am finding by looking it up is all contradicting. I know the perks are in the intelligence tree. I know it applys quick hacks now so it more of a net-runner weapon but does it count as a blade still despite that? I am very confused any answers would help me greatly

The few monowire related abilities are in the int tree, the real power comes from the relic upgrades in the DLC. The damage is relegated to which of the 4 monowires you choose, they each scale off a different attribute point. It does not scale off blade perks. Dense Marrow works with monowire, I dont think the Rotors do though.

I am having a blast with Contagion + Black Mamba and whip it, whip it good.

I would get at least 15 body, which is easy with increased level cap with the DLC, for Adrenaline Rush, which is easily one of the best abilities in the game, for all builds. For melee, I would look into Blood Pump + Bio Monitor. Those 3 combined will keep you alive through just about anything the game throws at you even on Very Hard.

I have done a monowire build, a throwing knife + mantis blade, and a shotgun + gorilla arms build. Adrenaline Rush + Blood Pump + Bio Monitor have been putting in 110% effort for me, best bang for your attribute/skill and cyberware buck.

I try not to get too in-depth, just sharing my own experience when it comes to builds. You should experiment and come up with something you find fun.

OPs question isn't entirely unjustified. Mantis blades benefit from all skills that benefit bladed weapons, and gorilla arms benefit from all skills that benefit blunt weapons. However, monowires got relegated into their own unique weapon type, which means the only skills that directly affect them is the monowire melee finisher in the intelligence tree, and the unique relic perks. The projectile launch system was similarly also turned into its own weapon type to not gain a direct benefit from grenade skills, but it still does deal grenade damage to trigger those related effects.

Monowire SHOULD also benefit from anything specifying "melee" in general, but isnt always true. Dense Marrow works in practice, but is ignored by the character sheet, so that might be an unintended interaction and patched out, if it wasnt already. Meanwhile, Rotors do not, which also adds to my suspicion that Dense Marrow working is an oversight.

Be sad if Dense Marrow stops working, monowire isnt particularly... well, great. It is fun, but just moderately good.
