[Fix] How to Change Pocket-Radio [Z] and Dialogue Confirm [F] Keybinds- Patch 2.1
Patch 2.1 broke my keybinding in two ways:
- "F" was hard-bound again to Dialogue Confirm (I use E for interact)
- The new "pocket radio" is now bound to "Z"—same key to open text messages

In their genius, CDPR have many of their keybinds hardcoded into their config files and rebinding for example F key to E will not work for many of the interactions like leaving vehicle, using UI, etc. It would also cause perks such as Overclock to completely break because the key in the UI to apply the quickhack (F) would also activate your Overclock (if now bound to F) causing it to activate/deactivate with the first quickhack you upload.

What's more, patch 2.1 introduced a bug to the config/keybind system where using in-game menu to rebind the keys will change the value of the "default_value" not the "value" itself. Meaning rebinding the key in-game does nothing.

THERE ARE 2 CONFIG FILES THAT AFFECT KEYBINDS! The first one (most people will know) is located in the game's install folder. This is where you need to change the values to rebind the INTERACT [F] key.

To fully rebind the F key to E (or your liking):
Go to
<path-to-game>\r6\config

Open "inputUserMappings.xml"

(Make a backup of the file first)
Use Ctr+F to search for
"IK_F"

and replace with

"IK_E"

Continue doing this to replace all functions bound to F in that specific config file

To rebind the (on foot) "pocket radio":
Press Windows-Key+R
Type
appdata
And press Enter

Go to
%AppData%\Local\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk 2077

Open "UserSettings.json"

Use Ctr+F to search for
"name": "radio"

Under that line find
"value": "IK_Z"

and change the "Z" to the keybind of your choice

It's sad that it has been in its state since day one. 3 years later proper keybinding is still not a thing for CDProjekt Red. Not like you had the time to fix it or anything...more like you don't really care about azerty keyboard :/

Thank you! I have been trying to figure out why the heck my keys weren't working after re-binding them over and over.
