Dualsense Vibration / DS4Windows DualSenseX Sound Problems
I installed the new update today. It was said that DualSense now works for PS5 controllers, but...

But that's not for me on the PC because the vibration and the settings of 100 are a joke and you hardly feel any vibration at all, so the weapons fill up as if I were playing with the mouse.
But now I have another problem that when I switch on DS4Windows or DualSenseX and have much better vibrations on the weapons, the sound disappears every time and the game keeps hanging so that it constantly stutters. Before the update it worked wonderfully and only now with the update does the game completely spin as soon as I switch on DS4Windows. As soon as I switch off DS4 everything works again.
But I need DS4Windows for the vibrations, otherwise the game is only half the fun...
What I tried is this:
1. Steam, Playstation Controller Support in Steam set to Not Enabled
2. Because Controller speakers are deactivated in the settings (I found it online that it can also cause problems with the sound)
3. All DualSense settings turned off
4. Game as well as DS4Windows and PS5 controller update uninstalled and reinstalled
5. Tried another controller
But the problem is always there, sound stuttering and still images repeatedly.
It's as if the settings of the new DualSense PS5 controller settings and the DS4Windows are at war with each other, as if Cyberpunk is constantly trying to switch back and forth between the PS5 controller and the XBOX controller settings of the DS4...

I would like a solution as quickly as possible because it worked before the update and now it doesn't, or a function where I can turn off DualSense completely or a solution how I can solve it externally.

The strange thing is that when I plug the controller into the PS5 and run Cyberpunk 2077 there, the Dual Sense vibration is so much stronger than on the PC... It's simply a marketing trick from Sony that it's on It works much worse on the PC and it's best to buy a PS5... Please help and find a quick solution.

I also use a dualsense controller, and it worked just fine for me, even the half feedback too. The shocks are pretty strong compared to when using ds4windows.

I have three Auto profiles in DS4Windows, the default is set to disabled virtual controller, so the DualSense is natively recognized by any game that supports it. Then i have a DS4 profile with enabled Virtual Controller for games that support the DS4 but not the DualSense (for ps4 prompts ingame). Third profile is for games that only support the XBOX controller (e.g. Alan Wake Remastered).
You are correct in that the switching between DualSense and XBox causes the freezing, so i would recommend you to create similar Autoprofiles that only switch to XBOX for games when necessary.

All DualSense features work fine for me. Pretty sure i left Steam Input enabled, since it recognizes the DualSense natively, it shouldnt be a problem.
You might have to restart the game if you change something with it running.

@Parry Jackson / I've tried everything, but as soon as I turn on DS4W or DSX, the sound disappears as soon as I do anything with the PS5 controller like running, shooting, etc.
What settings do you have on Steam --> Controller if you use a PS5 controller?
And yes, I also tried turning it on with the settings outside of the game and then starting the game, but always the same problem...

You probably didn't read the problem, did you? When I turn on DS4W then I have no sound and stuttering problems... But very glad that it works for you...

Just checked, i have Steam input disabled for Cyberpunk, so its only seeing my Native (passthrough) profile from DS4Windows.
How is your DS4Windows profile set up? Do you have ‚Disable Virtual Controller’ checked under ‚Profiles -> your profile -> Other’ ? If not, do so. You can still adjust the Rumble strength via ‚Force Usage of both % strength levels‘.
Sounds like it is still emulating an Xbox controller while the game detects the DualSense natively aswell.

You don't need ds4/dualsenseX or any 3rd parties at all. (FOR GAMES WITH NATIVE DS5 SUPPORT)

Just disable steam input for the game and launch for full dualsense native support.

All dualsense5 features are working great for me with the new update, vibration, heptics triggers and even the speaker.

You guys using a DualSense or DualSense Edge? I only have the Edge variant, and CyberPunk does not pick it up no matter what I do, despite Death Stranding (Another game with amazing DualSense support and feedback) doing so perfectly fine

The only reason I don't own an Edge is my fear of PC incompatibilities exactly like you're describing.

However it's worth downloading the app for updating it's firmware like you have to with a regular dualsense5 and making sure you disable steam controller input in the steam game properties so the game picks it up natively. I had to upgrade my ds5 firmware twice so far.

***DO NOT USE ANY THIRD PARTY APPS LIKE DS4 OR DUALSENSEX FOR ANY GAMES WITH NATIVE DUALSENSE5 SUPPORT

I'm so jealous you have an Edge. Ditching my k&m setup for a steam controller ten years ago and now the ds5 has proved to be a wise decision for me.

Have you tried your Edge with PC games like Metro Exodus Death-loop and the Spider-Man games?

i dont know if DS4Windows can, i own the regilar DS and see no options for the Edge but DualSenseX has an option to make the Edge appear as normal DualSense for games that cause problems. i dont use DSX myself though, found it to be buggy and lacking autoprofiles (i dont want deal with a controller app everytime i start a different game)

The op was aware of that, that wasn't his request though.

He clearly wasn't or he wouldn't be here begging for quick fixes for his non working controller, he'd be enjoying his lush dualsense5 features in Cyberpunk 2.1... and he can probably speak for himself too eh.

I am using the non edge version, just the plain ol dualsense controller and I can hear, get haptic feedback and strong vibrations for every inventory action/phone/etc

FYI: I did a clean install and deleted all my appdata settings and saves too.

How do you know it's not supported?

And can you confirm Edge native support in games like Metro, Spider-Man and Death-loop please.

Just curious as I really want to replace my standard ds5 for an Edge.

I have a similar problem every time I plug a DS4 in to charge it (nothing to do with this game). It changes the default sound output every time... So I have to plug it in while at the desktop, change the default output back to what it's supposed to be, and then start a game.

Bit of a pain really, but I only plug it in if the battery is dead so it's not too bad. Not ideal, but it might help?
