You are correct in that the switching between DualSense and XBox causes the freezing, so i would recommend you to create similar Autoprofiles that only switch to XBOX for games when necessary.
All DualSense features work fine for me. Pretty sure i left Steam Input enabled, since it recognizes the DualSense natively, it shouldnt be a problem.
You might have to restart the game if you change something with it running.
What settings do you have on Steam --> Controller if you use a PS5 controller?
And yes, I also tried turning it on with the settings outside of the game and then starting the game, but always the same problem...
How is your DS4Windows profile set up? Do you have ‚Disable Virtual Controller’ checked under ‚Profiles -> your profile -> Other’ ? If not, do so. You can still adjust the Rumble strength via ‚Force Usage of both % strength levels‘.
Sounds like it is still emulating an Xbox controller while the game detects the DualSense natively aswell.
Just disable steam input for the game and launch for full dualsense native support.
All dualsense5 features are working great for me with the new update, vibration, heptics triggers and even the speaker.
The only reason I don't own an Edge is my fear of PC incompatibilities exactly like you're describing.
However it's worth downloading the app for updating it's firmware like you have to with a regular dualsense5 and making sure you disable steam controller input in the steam game properties so the game picks it up natively. I had to upgrade my ds5 firmware twice so far.
***DO NOT USE ANY THIRD PARTY APPS LIKE DS4 OR DUALSENSEX FOR ANY GAMES WITH NATIVE DUALSENSE5 SUPPORT
I'm so jealous you have an Edge. Ditching my k&m setup for a steam controller ten years ago and now the ds5 has proved to be a wise decision for me.
Have you tried your Edge with PC games like Metro Exodus Death-loop and the Spider-Man games?
The op was aware of that, that wasn't his request though.
He clearly wasn't or he wouldn't be here begging for quick fixes for his non working controller, he'd be enjoying his lush dualsense5 features in Cyberpunk 2.1... and he can probably speak for himself too eh.
FYI: I did a clean install and deleted all my appdata settings and saves too.
this game has no native support for the edge which is kinda crazy hey
How do you know it's not supported?
And can you confirm Edge native support in games like Metro, Spider-Man and Death-loop please.
Just curious as I really want to replace my standard ds5 for an Edge.
I have a similar problem every time I plug a DS4 in to charge it (nothing to do with this game). It changes the default sound output every time... So I have to plug it in while at the desktop, change the default output back to what it's supposed to be, and then start a game.
Bit of a pain really, but I only plug it in if the battery is dead so it's not too bad. Not ideal, but it might help?
