1.Firestarter mission: Select “Help Reed Capture Songbird” during the Firestarter mission1.
2.Talk to Mr. Hands: Discuss the destruction of the MaxTac convoy.
3.Get information from the recommended netrunner: Pay Mr. Hands 15,000 Eurodollars to get access to his special Netrunner, Yoko.
4.Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos mission: Start this mission and text Mr. Hands the location of the MaxTac convoy just before starting the assault.
5.Wait for Mr. Hands’ message: A few days after completing the “Somewhat Damaged” quest and reaching the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty ending, Mr. Hands will text you again, offering a unique reward.
6.Go to V’s apartment: Head back to V’s apartment at Megabuilding H10 in Little China, Watson, to find a crate on the floor just to the left of their wardrobe. Inside this crate, are the MaxTac Mantis Blades.
Alternatively, you can obtain the MaxTac Mantis Blades by attacking Mantis-armed MaxTac enemies as part of a bounty escalation, or looting them off the corpse of Melissa Rory during the “Bullets” side job. However, these methods are more challenging and less reliable.
Here are a few things that might help:
1.DLC Requirement: Some players have reported that the blades only drop if you have the Phantom Liberty DLC.
2.Game Completion: Another factor could be whether you have completed the game.
3.Level Requirement: There’s a suggestion that your character’s level might affect the drop. Epic items start spawning around level 25, and you can buy them at level 30. Legendaries drop around level 35 and you can buy them at level 40.
4.Method of Attack: Some players have suggested that the method of attack might affect the drop. For example, using a rear-takedown or engaging with a MaxTac officer outside the clothing store
Visit the Jinguji clothing store and talk to the clerk - no need to buy anything, just browse the selection. Then wait a day, and the store icon should show up as a Side Quest icon on the map. Go in, talk to the clerk, then fight off the cyberpsycho. Melissa Rory will show up to finish him unless you killed him yourself (BTW, he's scripted to die, so a non-lethal approach won't work).
Now the hard part - attacking Melissa Rory or any Maxtac officer will immediately have all the force of the law on you. What I did was go behind her and do a non-lethal takedown, grab the mantis blades from her body, then run the hell outta there and find a place to hide (dashing certainly helps).
Thank you for this. I'm half way through playing the DLC and I completely forgot I had these as a gift waiting for me in my apartment. Looks like they have a little more dmg than the regular blades.
I have tried many times and not even 1 drop in any enemy in more that 20 minutes killing cops, and i mean, not a sigle drop of any kind... makes me think that in persecutions of any start loot its just not aloud.
