Carrying capacity limit needs to go 2024
If items are there to collect, important or not, let us freely take things without weighing down movement. Not just for this game but many games. It's annoying. I wish games would evolve this old idea and allow a method where players could take what's available. Make it more casual. Most people don't have time to sift thru every half hour or every 15 minutes to be able to walk/run at normal speed until the next fill-up. And the same players don't want to miss important drops either. There is no middle ground- besides valuable and limited perks and cyberware. I hope 2024 sees this inventory capacity trend finally die.

They already have an ingredients bag and components weigh 0.

Nah lame. I like having an inventory limit. Makes sense and gives purpose to storage through apartments and such.

1) Drop points and other stores are all over the place, so you can just sell the low tier crap.
2) You can dismantel everything where ever you are.
3) The trunk of your vehicles are a direct wormhole into Vs stash.

.. seriously, what more do we need? This is basically infinite carry weight.

"not the time to sift through stuff" ... ? It takes not even a minute and you get money and crafting components out of it, both of which you need unless you are nearing the end of your leveling journey.

I .. see the beginning of a point in your complaint, but honestly? This game gives you everything you are asking for, you just need to use it.
By not using it you deprive yourself of cyberware, iconic weapon upgrades, cyberware upgrades and what ever else you might want to buy.
Just .. use the mechanics.

Different games use different means of annoying the player, if you had written this one on a skyrim forum for example I would applaud you. There the meta strat for inventory management is to simply not loot anything that can't turn into potions unless it is about dagger sized or has an enchantment you want. That's just straight up crap.
Here? It goes quick, you have easy access to storage, easy access to selling points and 2 out of 3 mechanics to power yourself up are tied into that brief moment of "hold z to dismantel" or "click to sell".

Developers of RPGs taking suggestions from people who don't like RPGs needs to go in 2024. Baldur's Gate 3 has proven that.

Yo what are you talking about man? Been enjoying the hell out of that game so far! The mechanics remind me a lot of 5E D&D with a few embellishments sprinkled here and there.

Just scrap all the gear you don't need and you'll be fine, the stuff I pick up can't even reach 100/X because I stopped carrying around useless crap.

X meaning my total CC, if that wasn't obvious.

That's probably why he doesn't like it, that it reminds him of 5e DnD. And honestly I can't blame him, it has a bad rep with the TTRPG community that plays other systems besides DnD and d20-type games.

Fair enough. 5E was my introduction to the tabletop so I won't understand but I get it! The combat mechanics and whatnot never really bothered me and I've always been more interested in the roleplay and world building aspect itself.

maybe BG3 reminds you of 5E because it is using the 5E ruleset. . .

I bought it an hour ago thinking my compter could handle it, but apparently it's too demanding for my system, and i suspect this would be too, so i'll just show myself out

How much stuff are you carrying that you end up constantly overweight?
lauruswolfe Jan 4, 2024 @ 9:17am
I think an auto-disassemble based on tier of component which you could set would be nice but i think if you're hitting carry cap limits in this game then you're doing the bare minimum to manage anything.

Personally, I'm quite happy to be fiddling with my inventory on a regular basis. How do you amass the money you need in-game and the crafting materials to upgrade weapons and cyberware? How do you find the best weapons you pick up without rummaging through them? I can't imagine playing the game without doing any of this.

Ok thanks guys, I will try the console command. Looks like people say it wont affect achievements. Disabling intro loading screens though, will.

You saying disabling intro videos disables achievements?

As somebody who has had these disabled since 2020, and got all the achievements - nope.
Did you disable via steam launch code or thru mod?
