fps drops and stuters in dogtown
I really love this game but i would like to enjoy it without frustrating lags, anybody else face this issue? I'm on a 2060 Super and R5 5500

Dogtown can be pretty rough compared to anywhere else. There's several guides on youtube that lists optimal settings. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K0nMGv4ttQ&t=699s that's 2.0 not 2.1 but may be helpful still.
The one below is a bit newer. Good to check more then 1

Yes, Dogtown has areas of heavier system load.

Eh guess it's time to upgrade to a 4070 and 5600

Nah if i can play with 13 year old cpu/mobo i say just look into getting the 4070 first.

I mean, your call, but yo might as well buy a used 3080 or 3090 instead of you're not going to go 4080 or higher.
Or hold out and see how the 4070ti Super plays out at least.
And go 5800x 3d if you're going to stick with AM4 (or 5700x) over the 5600.

I have 5600 and it's getting maxed. I would recommend 5800x3d too

Play in 1080p.
I have OC my 7900XT to not drop below 60fps in native 4K (no RT)...

I'm already on 1080p lol, don't think playing at a lower resolution would help anyway i think its a cpu bottleneck

Strange, perhaps my GPU has some sort of issue

This is what my 13 year old cpu can do. So no don't think that's your issue.

Just watch the 2 youtube vids and find some happy settings. Run msiafterburner and watch the cpu and gpu. see where the bottle neck really is. The 2060super isn't going to be great. But think you can find some decent settings or i hope so. I mean ray tracing is out for sure. But i'm sure you already know that. Also ensure the following;

Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling ON windows
Game Mode ON windows
Try Disabling HPET High Precision Event Timer. known to help remove/reduce stutters and or increase fps.

If you mess with HPET run a benchmark before and after. And always create a restore point first.

Issue is it's not even an ordinary performance issue this particular fps drop happens whenever i dash/ start sprinting it gets very frustrating as you can guess. (No matter which setting btw, DDU'ing my driver fixes this issue for say 10-15 minutes then it starts happening again, something bloats up in my gpu but i just dont know what and why.)
This happens way more often in city areas; It's way worse in dogtown.

vsync? and which driver version? 546.31 and 546.33 act weird with vsync enabled. 546.29 works better for vsync. and how is your vram? is it running low so after time it starts having issues. can't recall what a 2060 super has. but common issue fixed sort of by lowing texture setting

Have you tried lowering the crowd setting? it's cpu mainly but rule it out just in case.

I don't use vsync since i have the fsr 3 frame generation mod (The issue persists even without the fsr 3 mod) I'm also on the latest driver 546.33 i think? my VRAM is 8 gig and i'm on 1080p so thats more than enough dont think thats the issue

I might try downgrading the driver version see how that works out.
