My guns are incapacitating instead of killing
No I don't have non-lethal mods installed, and I feel like its happening 50/50. I happens with my SMG, Sniper, and maybe with my shotgun, havent tried yet. Is this a known bug? Is there a fix?

Doesn't really bother me much but it just doesnt make sense

All ranged weapons are lethal unless specified. If you want them NOT TO KILL, just put a silencer. I belive that all guns (even moded) with silencers are just incapacitating.

Wrong. Panams iconic sniper rifle comes with a premounted suppressor. If shot in the head, enemy scupls will explode, if anything crit-spot is equipped it will indeed remove limbs as well. Suppressors add +xy damage when in stealth/ undetected mode. if you want it to become a non deadly 50.cal rifle, use specific weapon mods to make said weapon non-lethal.

Landing a headshot [as the final blow] always ends in a kill for me, otherwise hitting their bodies with bullets sometimes kills, sometimes doesn't.

Seems to be intended from what I've experienced so far with my SMG build.

Aim for the head if you always want them dead.

This is what makes the most sense.

But I think there is an exception in the quest to incapacitate cyberpsychos for Regina. The cyberpsychos always seem to get knocked out instead of killed, even if finish them with a headshot. Thats probably intended so you don't kill them on accident, but I only found that out later. I was carrying a non-lethal weapon all the time to deal the last hits on them lol

It's sketchy with cyberpsychos. I used that "special" weapon you can get from Meredith Stout specifically as it says it's non-lethal. The first cyberpscyho I beat with the thing died, though I'm almost certain it was I accidentally hit him once more as he went down.

I find the best approach for non-lethal take downs is a weapon with PAX and shoot below the waist.

Do your weapons have an elemental effect, like fire, poison etc? Those are considered non lethal and if they do the 'final' bit of damage it'll be an incapacitation instead of a kill.
