Are Ripperdoc's Inventories No Longer Unique?
I am adjusting to the new 2.0/PL update and was curious. In the original base game you had to go to different ripperdocs to get special hardware but so far they all seem to have the same inventory. Is that true?

Only difference is Dogtown rippers have iconics now. Other than that everyone is the same.

I read this is actually the reason this change supposedly went through, just so fans who were pissed would stop saving his butt.

I noticed that for whatever reason, Vic was missing have cheap but effective early on bionic joints in my recent fresh start run.

So shop around if there happens to be one particular cyberware you could have sworn was for sale, and wasn't outright removed in patches (I miss my fireproof skin options)

Might be possible the tiger claws tattoo is also specific to one guy?

It is completely the reason it went through. I was reading about iconic cyberware (cause I had yet to see *any*) and found this out. Sadly the reason to not punch him was *also* removed (the Charge Jump + Double Jump legs) so it's kinda eh either way in the end.

Well that just takes a little away from the RP part of the game doesn't it? Thought consequences should matter. Not that Fingers had every top shelf item in 1.0.

I agree. I enjoyed the travelling between ripperdocs to grab their unique items.

both have their up sides. i did prefer the old way that encouraged you to venture around looking for all the different rippers.
they could have jsut changed fingers offers to someone else so his quest choice to punch him didn't lock you out of anything.
or with the new system they could have spread the iconics around to the different rippers so you are still encouraged to go seek them all out.

I'm just happy to be able to beat Fingers and that one Scav ripperdock without repercussions now.

His inventory never stopped me from doing that anyway. To thine own self be true.

There was a charge jump+double jump leg augmentation? that sounds baller af

Yeah I was team high jump legs like a freak, so it did not hurt me as much when they removed those from the game in spite of not smacking him around (more out of being lazy than morals).

The people who get very smug about "Actions should have consequences" tend to backwalk to "Yeah well those legs were overpowered anyways!". Those speeches tend to only hold up as long as it is to justify an inconvenience, and get thrown under the bus once choices mattering would be useful.

I could live without Fingers store so I always punched him. At first I was on the fence about this change but in the long run it was always a pain in the butt running from ripper to ripper trying to find the best piece of tech or jumping out of the game to see who had what. Too much wasted time with the same exact outcome as the current system.
