What's with the useless "disposable" SMGs?

Bought 5 of them so far, because I wanted to try them, but every single one came out of a vending machine without any ammo.
How do you get some that are actually loaded?

Its the vending machines that have a rainbow of guns on the front.
Think it's called the 'slaughtomatic'

The guns should have a clip installed, think it was ether 64 or 99.
But it can't be refilled. There is a modified one that Barghast uses, but think you can only get that from them by flatlining them and getting a lucky drop.

These guns are a reference to the ones in the tabletop game
We called them 'polymer one-shots'
Cheap, brightly co!oured disposable plastic printed guns with a single magazine already loaded.
Juves would use them a lot because they were cheap and easy to grab from a VendIt.
The idea is 'better than nothing'
However, they were badly designed, would often lock or jam and had a tendency to explode in a shower of plastic shrapnel and the gonk holding its hand.

They used to be upgradeable back in 1.6 days.

Not sure you can craft ammo for a weapon that's advertised as "not reloadable".

I'm not short on ammo or weapons, I just want to try this thing for a gimmick.

You should be able to just point and shoot.
Do you have and mods? Specifically, check ones that change ammo (that's where I would look first)
If not, check perks that give back ammo for that type of gun, when you ether pull it out or kill/neutralise a target. If you have taken any ammo boost or replenish perks, try refunding them to test that isn't interfering with them since they can't be reloaded.

The only mod I'm using is the "Exotics" one, which, to my knowledge, only changes certain visual things, but not gameplay.

I have no ammo replenishing perks.

The issue with those disposable guns is, that they already come out of the vending machines with "0" ammo. The moment my character tries using one, he just throws it to the ground.

It's a joke weapon. It's only there for if you somehow don't have a gun but need one and for lore reasons. The world is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up that they sell guns in vending machines.

I just tested it, you buy it from the machine with 36 bullets and once they are all shot you drop the gun, if you pick it up again it's empty.

Also the number is 0 until you equip it as you have no bullets to reload it with.

Huh? For me, the number remained 0 after equipping it. The character would hold it, ♥♥♥♥ it and then just throw it away.
