The Problem With Fixers
I never understood why fixers call V when V's right on top of the objective leaving the player with the notion the job needs to be done immediately with little time to plan. It completely breaks immersion when V is standing right next to an enemy on the objective and the fixer is explaining to V what they're supposed to be doing there.

It would make so much more sense if the Fixers would text V saying "Call me" or "Visit me" and V could either call or visit to kick off the gig's dialogue and information chain. This would allow V time to prepare what they needed prior to the mission. Fixers should be paranoid too, that the phone ain't secure and many missions should be explained in "burn after reading" emails or in-person with a shard instead of text. This minimal yet effective change could have been implemented in a small patch with little or no changes to dialogue or animations.

Or disable the call in settings, so you get a text message instead? You have time to read it, plan along, instead of listening to all the information

Why do they call me, to say "call me if you need work" and then when I call them I cant ask for work? One of many things that still makes this game an unfinished mess.

If I remember right, it used to be like that, but then people complained that they received to many calls, so now the fixers calls you when you are right near the objective, even if it makes no sense and the dialogue doesn't match

No its always been the way it is. The issue with Fixers used to be texting car listings. Since that function was moved to Autofixer its been a lot more quiet. Now If I could only block Panam, Judy, Takamura and whoever texts like a 12 year old.

Find the option to make them text you instead

That's not the point. Having the fixer text you the job information when you're right on top of the objective is just as stupid as a phone call. The primary issue is having fixer gig icons on the map initiating the gig.

It makes way more sense to only have the fixer gig icon only after you've accepted a gig. The fixer gives you one gig at a time with an arbitrary delay in between. This is both more immersive and prevents map clutter.

I get what you mean, it is like how it works in Splinter Cell: Black List, you have one spot (fixer) you go to, get the job (or maybe jobs to choose from) and do the job after accepting. It feels more like you do an actual job for a fixer, have more interaction, and are forced to 'report' at the fixer to get the next job. But in time of phones (lacking a better name for how it works in Cyberpunk) it is normal to not have physical contact at all

The clutter on the map is more the NCPD scanners and the massive amount of fast travel icons. Lucky enough you can filter them out

Just because you're at the location doesn't mean you know what to do at that location

The issue are 2:

1) V has no way of knowing where is the location of the gig before receiving a call. It's metagaming.

2) The dialogue with the Fixer hints at V being somewhere else than the gig's location.

it;s because fixers are as useless as football agents
they make up stuff like this to give the illusion they are of any use so they get eddies.
