I want to say that the Black Chrome supplement was a mistake but considering how heavy the Cyberpunk world is when it comes to corporate and consumerism. this stuff makes sense. Also hurts that I know that there are poor suckers IRL that would willingly do this.

but not all exotics are furry (or scaley for that matter lol)
there were Elves, Orks and Aliens..Bugs, too (remember the UsCrack's girls? one has Vintage 'Bug Eyes' cyber eyes. in the tabletop, those would dock you 'Att' or attractiveness points lol, unless the person seeing ya had a fetish for that kinda thing)

having said that...Kerry might be one of the few folks with the eddies to buy that kind of body modification in the game world.
tho i doubt he would... more likely spend it on his Guru, and a chunk of fat cha-ching on a spirit animal retreat than getting furry. maybe buy a cyberdog or exotic robo-pet.
(then get one of his hat wearing robo-guards to clean up after it and take it for walkies XD)

since we don't actually see any of them in the game... I'm going to say that the exotics trade has not picked up since the golden days of the 2010's and 2020's in game lore wise.
unless another city has made them a trend...Milan or Paris, perhaps?
Paris certainly has its thing with starving artists and alternative canvas in our own world, so i could see them having trends where people with more cash than braincells get scaley RealSkin replacements and turn into snake women or buy loyal Dog Moddied bodyguards.

(and now, on the Paris screen...the Bodyguard 2075 edition *sees woman dealing with her dog man protector humpin her leg* Down, boy!' XD)
