Most Armor is Cyberware related now (Blue right side Bar). You have to keep within Cyberware (Yellow Left) specs. Each Level you get a few more points. I think in Endgame I was packing 1000 + armor. On Normal Difficulty I am Unkillable (outside of BS stuff like the car I am in getting destroyed in a scripted mission.)
2.0 changed almost everything.
- your skill trees are completely different now for starters.
- only iconics can be upgraded in the crafting menu. You will have to find or buy higher tier normal weapon blueprints
- can still dismantle stuff default is the Z key
- weapon mods can be put on NON iconic weapons or a select number of iconics marked as "Xmod2"
My favourite weapon for non lethal kills was Fenrir, and they have turned it into junk. It is of no value anymore. I do not want to put a non lethal mod on any weapon. It was not necessary before. Now it is going to make keeping the cyberpsychos alive much harder.
My weapons are so underpowered, and my armor so weak I cannot stand up to any sort of close in firefight, and so far I have only two maxdocs and have found no more. The SPT32 rifle is now so pitiful its of no use. Sniping is off the table.
Its like they are forcing us into a run and dodge melee combat, which I frikkin hate.
No, I do not wish to start the game over from scratch. Its too much of a grind, and now, it looks like it will be even worse of a grind as I will be so pitifully weak and under equipped it will be a constant dying fest, which I also hate.
I have to assume these design changes were made by a bean counter committee who got its advice from ChatGPT. In my opinion, they have ruined everything good about the game.
I am really disappointed.
I actually like the game mechanics a lot more this way. But you be you.
Edit: Grenades and Healing are on a Charge system. You use and after x amount of secs you can use again. I think 2 default, 3rd with a perk. When you find them in storage it will update your version (Tier). Tech Line on the Left side has perks that lessen time.
Start a new game, as is recommended, treat it as entirely new, and adapt. If you spend all your time pining after "the good old days" you are going to have a bad time.
you sound like a grumpy old fart complaining about these new fangled changes.....
Yes I understand that there have been changes ... ( been playing since launch myself ).
The game is pretty good about explaining things.... so keep calm and read.
I suggest starting a new game and learning things like a new player. Forget the old ways...
I play a stealth character so it is still a viable path.
So you still disassemble for parts and create/or update similar to the old ways ( broken weapons just scrapped automatically now....
Money is easy to come buy as looted weapons sell for good money....
Nobody forces you to hack so don't.
Relax and start playing.....hope you give it a chance.
Its my third playtrough now, and somehow I always end with that combination.
My point is: Its working perfectly well.
I'd recommend to start a new playtrhough for 2.00+. But thats just my opinion. If you dont... well yeah. Stuff will change, and it can be confusing.
What else... oh yeah. You disassemble by pressing z. But I think it always was like that.
And the game pretty much drowns you in money.
I nowadays disasamble everything I find... because I dont need more money.
There is no grind, just enjoy the game. The grind is in your mind.
Dude...
'' the grind is in your mind ''
should be put on t-shirts and bumper stickers.
It should also be graffiti in the game.
Even as a newcomer its been hard to wrap my head around all these different skill trees and mechanics. As an Rpg enthusiast nothing makes sense to me, everything I learned or played from previous Rpg games doesn't translate well into CP. Worse is the skill trees and build paths themselves aren't beginner friendly, in other Rpg games you would usually build up to a certain skill you want but in this system you can start anywhere as long as you have the stat requirements met, except the ultimates. Then many of the skills themselves aren't really explained or expanded upon, the descriptions of what many skills are vague and you just have to hope the skill does something.
I will however give devs more time to prove themselves, because so far I'm honestly disappointed and unimpressed by the quality, state, and nature of the game. I have so many things on my mind to say however I'd rather wait atm or not do that if I have to depending how my playthrough goes but the cons are definitely outweighing any pros the game has.
If you want the best sniper rifle (imo) get the Breakthrough (iconic Nekomata). Crafting spec at Organised Crime Activity in Santo Domingo.
For most of the game, I only use 3 weapons Breakthrough, Widow Maker and any available 2 barrel shotgun (combined with Microgenerator). I break down all other found weapons and use the crafting parts to upgrade Breakrthough and Widow Maker.
#1. Tech Weapons are worse at seeing through walls. You have to use Ping, which is also worse and alerts enemies by default now even without any legendary Short Circuit effect. So Breakthrough and Nekomata are considerably worse than they used to be. Still, Breakthrough is probably the best sniper rifle available now. Snag is you have to be specced for Tech weapons to make full use of it.
#2. SPT32 variants are slower unless you mod them not to be.
#3. Overwatch, despite being the ONLY silenced Sniper Rifle in the game, still alerts enemies almost as much as an unsilenced rifle does.
#4. The Ashura and its variants were always a joke. The whole point of sniping is lining up your shot and taking it, and here you have some crappy weapon that always autotargets center of mass and... well yeah.
#5. For the most part, Iconic weapons can't be modded any more. Well, unless you use game mods to re-enable it as I have.
#6. Weapon ranks now go up to 5++. You can only craft up to 5. So yeah, the crafting system is effectively useless in end-game. If you want a perfect Tier 5++ rifle, you need to get it by random drop... or use an Iconic. But of course Iconics can't be upgraded.
... Long story short I kill most things with a silenced pistol now. Even from absolute extreme range. I just have to trust in the aim-assist. Well, that or hacking. I don't mind using hacking, unlike yourself.
Nah. Fenrir is great. It just isn't very non-lethal because... y'know... submachinegun.
Hacking is best for non-lethal takedowns since almost every hack will leave the opponent incapacitated rather than dead. But again, you don't like the hacking. Nor throwing knives (which can incapacitate with chemical damage).
