How does slide work in this game?

It is 100% not my keyboard. I have a keyboard touch tracker app and yeah i am 100% pressing CTRL (my slide button). My problem is that the slide mechanic in this game works very randomly. Sometimes it will slide in one click, sometimes double click. I am not sure what is going on? Did I miss like a tutorial window that explained it?

Run and press crouch. When in aim mode press block + direction will also slide as well? I am not sure about that because I don't use guns now. Just sneak and throwing knifes and axe.

You need a minimum amount of momentum to be able to slide and also the crouching/starting to slide animation is not instant, because the game tries to be realistic about this. So basicly, you are probably trying to slide too quickly after starting to sprint or you're trying to slide in tight areas and hitting a wall/object before the crouching/starting to slide animation can finish.

I felt the same way you do when I started playing but realized the problem was just me trying to use slide in places and situations it isnt supposed to be used.

TLDR: Stop trying to slide on tight areas, sliding is only consistent on open spaces.

Also something SUPER relevant that I forgot to mention is that, if you play with the crouch as a toggle, your character will only crouch after you release the key, not when you press it, AND if you take just a bit too long to release the crouch button, it won't go through. You have to quickly tap and release the button or nothing will happen at all.

I don't know why it works that way since I haven't progressed a lot in the game in terms of levels but I'm guessing there is a skill that changes the behavior of the crouching in a way that i needs to work on key release instead of key press.

A workaround would be to play with crouch hold but its kinda hard when you have to press a million other keys mid-fight.
