Never fade away quest bug

I just loaded up an old save a few days back and have finally been getting into the game,
now I am playing mission called 'Never Fade Away' where you play as Johnny. I get into an elevator to go down to the parking garage, but I can't press the button to go down. I have reloaded earlier auto saves from earlier in the mission and the bug still happens. Is my save screwed since it is an old save? I really hope not, I am so sick of the intro for this game cause the BDs are the killer of fun for me.

It's a bit slow, you have to wait for Rogue and Santiago to enter the elevator first. Then wait a little more. Just keep clicking that elevator panel, it will activate eventually.

I noticed when I call the elevator, I had to stand in front of the door to call it, not use the panel. Do I need to stand in a certain spot? I have been standing in that elevator for almost ten minutes watching TV.

ok, so THE FINGER FINALLY POPPED UP!!!! I think what worked is I was standing at the panel spamming F, then alt tabbed to see if anyone had responded to my post, then alt tabbed again and the finger was there!!! So, future internet person who runs into this bug, I hope this helps.
