Do they still matter since they don't have stats anymore?

Some give you some nice stats, you can ignore it tho

The upper 4 slots (helmet, face, upper and lower torso) can have stats depending on which type of clothing they are (e.g. on the upper torso ballistic vests give you armor, or ammo belts give you reload speed), but what you wear in those slots isn't too important since you can create an outfit at your wardrobe or at clothes merchants and then switch to that at any time you want from your inventory. Got 6 outfit slots, so you have a lot of leeway with which styles you want to be able to switch to at will.

Depends on whether you want to see your ugly bits when you go to your inventory or not.

Apart from a couple of quest specific outfits, you could dress in a bozo suit.

for the most part clothes are cosmetic, only some clothes like armored vests and resistant helmets have stat bonuses. equip that but use the wardrobe feature to dress however you like, that's the way to do it.

I have only seen bonuses on headware, eyewear and jackets never seen any for shirts, shoes or pants. Kind of been wondering what is up with that.

Balaclavas can be pretty broken since their 7% reduced visibility is additive, and if you stack decreased visibility on chrome you can be literally invisible. Just don't overdo it, with negative visibility stealth breaks.
Only the netrunner stuff have bonuses.

for shirts see netrunner suits, they can slot in there for resistance to hostile netrunner attacks

nothing for shoes or pants though, pants could increase inventory a little and trainers could've helped with speed or stamina

Never gave any thought on the full suits, i'll have to pay attention to those now.

since most clothes don't have stats...my female V does missions/jobs/gigs only wearing sunglasses and shoes

Helmets and armour vests give a small amount of protection...useful in the earliest part of the game, perhaps. Clothing generally as armour never made much sense to me. I kind of miss the footware mods that reduced fall damage...

Maybe it is time for a fashion thread, beside the screenshot one. But going naked, and use that special iconic weapon... would top everything, and be challenging
