Cyberpunk 2077

Too much RAM usage?
I use my computer mainly to play games. I have the following settings:

OS: Windows 11 Pro
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 4600G
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 8GB
RAM: 24GB DDR4

In general, I run the game with the settings on ultra without any major problems, just a drop in frames here and there but it goes from like 60 to 40, nothing too dramatic.

The problem occurs after I close the game, as I use my computer to work too, some of the other apps I use like Blender and Photoshop suffer performance problems, not only them, but also my Wallpaper Engine runs at a slower framerate, my internet browser also becomes slow and even Windows Explorer runs slower.

I noticed that this only happens with Cyberpunk 2077 and it happens after I've been playing for a while, no other game had this issue. Not that it's something permanent, after I restart the computer the problem is resolved.

Does anyone else suffer from this or am I the only lucky one?

If your ram is in 4 slots, then it can slow it down, that can also happen with mismatched speed ram and even with differing sizes of ram. I only ever have 2 slots active on my PC, usually with the same size, speed, model.

I have four slots of each 8gb RAM, so 32 in total, and never got a stutter. Maybe it is a heat problem? Did you check the temps? Or maybe something is running in the background (you can see it pressing ctrl+shift+esc)?

Cache is choking, indicated by a restart clearing it. If it was a heat problem it would show up during play, and not afterwards, unless the temp throttling is manually set, but if that was the case it would be consistent across all use.

Something I've noticed is that the game runs better on hybrid drives, those with hdd having a separate large ssd cache, which leads me to think a lot of performance issues with the game are cache related.

Can't give you an explenation, just a reference:

Win 10
RAM 16 GB DDR 4
GPU AMD Radeon 5700rtx
CPU ... good question, has been a while since a CPU was a bottleneck for anything.

I can play this one on ultra without stuttering and can have several applications run in the background - RAM is not an issue here.
Importent addition:
I have caped the framerate at 60, which is the refresh rate of my monitor. Had really bad experiences with uncaped frame rates in the past and just do that by default now, no idea if I could uncap it.
