2.1 coming update
I have a little quest regarding to the new update coming the 5th December. When it comes, it's needed to start a new game to run it "correctly"?, or you can play normally with your current savegame without any problems?

I guess nobody knows, since they'll only be announcing the details ... uhhh ... tomorrow, wasn't it?
My guess would be, you should be fine to continue playing with your old saves. It's unlikely they'll do another major revamp of essential game mechanics unannounced and so shortly after 2.0.

Making it 2.1, means a really big update is to come. I can not wait for the live stream, and what this 'new gameplay added' will be. Let's not hope for only a third person view

Who knows, maybe they DID finally implement the BD as playable. And they all are Delamain in his different selves

I cant imagine having to start a new game being necessary but I guess we wont know until the patch drops.

At a guess I would say maybe FSR 3 and/or New-game+ being implemented, probably some more bug fixing and optimisation ..... This is just a total guess, I could be totally wrong.

CDPR have already said no to NG+

Will the Next Patch Ruin My Saved Game?
Because I am slow, and it took me forever to get to Act 2, and I really, really don't want to start over ...

99.999% chance no. 2.0 only broke stuff because they changed so much in the background, and even then many saves still worked just fine.

Unfortunately we have absolutely no idea what is even coming nor in what capacity, so it's impossible to give any meaningful answer.

One can only guess, but I am not filled with hope that it will be stable because I started a completely fresh playthrough with 2.02 and it got bricked midway through due to a bug with hostile areas no longer working.

So we'll just have to wait and see.

Unless you've done heavy modding, no.

Even then, you'd have to be using some serious game changing mods to ruin a save. For instance, like putting assets in the game that weren't in the original game files (modded clothes, weapons, cyberware, vehicles, etc); best case they just disappear, but worst case, it corrupts your save.

that's never been the case i think, i can still load and play my launch save file just fine. only thing i lose out on are the gig rewards i think, there may be more.

and yeah, NG+ was deconfirmed again today so who knows what feature will be coming. my guess is lite car customization like paint jobs or an extreme difficulty mode.

Devs responsible for the patching since launch have said they've tried their best to allow for vanilla save game compatibility with updates. I've got a save from 1.1 which is still functional, has more glitches than a new game would but it's minor visual stuff like NPCs spawned double in some places.

Modded games can be a problem so usual general warning to everyone who is using mods to wait on those mods getting updated.
