My guess would be, you should be fine to continue playing with your old saves. It's unlikely they'll do another major revamp of essential game mechanics unannounced and so shortly after 2.0.
++
doesnt matter though, as long as its a good patch
At a guess I would say maybe FSR 3 and/or New-game+ being implemented, probably some more bug fixing and optimisation ..... This is just a total guess, I could be totally wrong.
Oh well that's one of my guesses out of the window then lol.
One can only guess, but I am not filled with hope that it will be stable because I started a completely fresh playthrough with 2.02 and it got bricked midway through due to a bug with hostile areas no longer working.
So we'll just have to wait and see.
Even then, you'd have to be using some serious game changing mods to ruin a save. For instance, like putting assets in the game that weren't in the original game files (modded clothes, weapons, cyberware, vehicles, etc); best case they just disappear, but worst case, it corrupts your save.
and yeah, NG+ was deconfirmed again today so who knows what feature will be coming. my guess is lite car customization like paint jobs or an extreme difficulty mode.
Modded games can be a problem so usual general warning to everyone who is using mods to wait on those mods getting updated.
