How helpful is high armor?
I can't seem to find any information on the exact percentages that higher armor values actually decrease incoming damage and the game just says it can reduce damage by "up to 59%".

Does anyone notice a real difference having near capped armor vs having less? I'm sitting at 1400 armor and I definitely feel tankier but I've swapped so much stuff around I can't tell if its the armor increase or the metric ton of HP regen I've got now.

PS for those that haven't used it Chitin not only gives a huge boost to armor but a whopping 10% extra hp regen per point in Body, so at 20 points its an insane 200% boost just from that one piece of cyberware.

Yes lots of numbers and statistics are not explained in a satisfying way, lots of things are just unknown.

But if you build a tanky V it will work, if you will build a glass-canon V it will work too, so its fine. Only uncomfortable for those who like numbers and stats (like me).

It almost felt like the more armour you have, the less it works. Or is it the confusing 'All damage dealt' multiplier?

I have 1741 armor and nobody can kill me. Its impossible for my enemies on highest difficulty.

It appears to me armor only has a limited effect on reducing damage, which is fine, forces you to build for it rather than just stack a bunch of armor.

How i understand it:

In the Cyberware overview you can see the armour rating and its actual maximum (which increases with leveling up / different cyberware or perks).

If you reach that maximum THEN you have 59 % reduction, thats basically the absolute maximum possible.

The graph shows how close you are to that maxium. I could be wrong though, but thats how i understood it.

Some shots bypass armour, both yours and the bad guys.

Currently have around 1000 armour, still get one-shot by some enemies... Basically don't see the need to max it out anymore. Dodging makes the trick better and more satisfying in a visual way
