Street cred in act 1
I picked up the game somewhat recently and have been playing both 2.0 and 1.63 versions (hence the 50ish hour play time) to get a feel for which one I like better as I was under the understanding that a lot of the RPG elements had been stripped in 2.0. However, even though I like getting the armor on clothing and such in 1.63, I think I like 2.0 better for the tight gameplay going forward.

My question though is I am supposed to have maxxed street cred at the start of act 1 in 2.0? I haven't even done the first missions with Dexter Deshawn yet and my street cred is like 48. It almost seems like my game is bugged, as I don't feel like I have done all that much honestly. I did finish 21/21 Regina missions and did wander around a bit killing random guys trying out some guns, but I find it hard to believe its this easy to essentially max out a major facet of the game. Anyone else experience this?

Street cred in 2.0 gives you a 15% discount. That is all.

Ahh I see. I was thinking it opened up all the vendor stocks and such still and thus was a major part of the progression. This makes more sense then, thanks.

Street cred now is just a flat discount on shops. It used to involve unlocking different gear, dunno if still does that.

It was possible to max it out before too by just doing all the activities in Watson before the Heist.

That makes sense. For some reason I was thinking it was super important to the overall progression of the game and so I thought it was odd I maxed it out at the start of the game. Sounds like they could basically just remove it then.
