Do smart weapons suck?
...or am I doing something wrong?
Got this off the fall sale and figuring stuff out, started building intelligence first and apparently it supposedly pairs with the smart weapons.
On paper "homing bullets" sounds awesome but it feels like they never actually hit anything that's not within near-melee range. The fact that ADS is not an option with them does not help. Is this a skill issue or are "dump" weapons actually a smarter choice since they actually hit stuff?

1. Once the target is in the 'targetting square'...
2. It takes a 1-2 secs for 'target-lock'.
3. TargetLock is lost if target moves out of the square - or you swing the square wildly.

You need a cyberware on the hands to 'activate' the smart function of a weapon. And if you build it right, you can become OP. Also.... most enemies use a Smart weapon

Yeah I figured it out, thx guys. They could have made it more clear tho.

LOL, more clear you can not get it than cyberpunk. Its written everywhere that you need a smart link. More clear they cant be.

Other things should be described more precise.

Remember that Tyger Claws have resistance to Smartgun fire. You will too if you use Wakako's Smartlink tattoo...part of her reward for completing The Gift.

That said, if you use that Tattoo while fighting Tyger Claws, it will not function.

There's a reason V calls her Wako.

Neither of these have ever been true, at least regarding the tattoo.

It was certainly the case in the past that the tattoo wouldn't target Tyger Claws. It may have been long patched since then, though.

smart weapons do not suck, my kappa pistol dominates everything

Apart from Skippy and Asura, I don't like SmartWeapons:
1. I prefer to target headshots rather than leave it up to chance.
2. SmartWeapons can't be silenced.
3. Skippy and Asura-class snipers are so much fun.

I would add Prototype Shingen mkV and Divided we Stand to this list

Let me see.

1. We have pizdets a silenced smart SMG

2. Ying long a smart SMG that caused emp nukes to ♥♥♥♥ with your enemies while doing good damage.

3. The prototype shingen which fires explosive rounds that get benefits from the pyromania perk while also procing said perk.

4. The Hercules which can be aptly described as death in gun form.

5. The yasha which is an upgraded Ashura that can support 2 mods of your choosing.

smart smg...crowd clearers. Work better than the javelina in a mall.

Every type of weapon in the game takes some practice and experimentation to learn to use well. None of them 'suck'...you just have to figure out their best usage.

There was a time where it failed to function as a smart link at all, but it's never both worked as a smart link, and not targeted Tygers. That's something that became "known" because the Tyger being arrested outside your starting apartment can't be targeted by smart weapons at all.
