I started a completely NG with this release and am close to level 20, yes. I've yet to find a good ranged precision weapon (which is sad). I've still found netrunning to be by far my best skill. Yes, from 1.X you can't just resolve late game NCPD quests in two quick hacks, but is that a bad thing?
Is it then any surprise that people who enjoyed that kind of gameplay the most are sad that CDPR completely erased the early-game stealthrunner in their rework?
Quite frankly, I dislike that netrunning has been made to "work like in the anime" at the detriment to gameplay styles that do not fit that expectation.
And as to people who think netrunning is OP, quite frankly, it is no more OP then any other weapon you spend your effort on, by the end-game, any skill tree can make you "OP" with the weapon('s) in question.
Even with the body attributes of a sickly nerd my v can still go melee and win with pretty much any non-quest named opponents using top tier gorilla arms, at level 50+.
15 int for overclock is all you need to spam ultimate hacks, I can shut off 5 or 6 goons even if I don't try to discount my hacks at all and just take the hit to health. I would have been all for a nerf to netrunning but that is not what this is. It's just the illusion of a more complex system.
Contagion is way more busted than before, the explosion is way too strong for what it is, you turn everyone into a grenade with the click of a button and all you have to do is light it. Bolt shots work absurdly well for this since you don't have to aim past the first target and the burn is guaranteed.
If anything this was a massive buff to hybrids such that it makes the old short circ on crit mechanic look tame.
CDPR gave you a bite of the same exact baby food, but this time they made airplane noises and it blew your mind. Too easily impressed if you ask me.
Snag Fenrir, Divided we Stand and Shingen as soon as your out of Watson. They're all easily accessible and very strong for nets. Fen is borderline broken shoot people with that and their brains turn off a lot of the times lmao.
Netrunner still nerfed hard for mobs or when cleaning up a room because you now have to setup more quickhacks than before or waiting your overclock cooldown. Especially with the lost of guaranteed spread on most quickhacks (No more ultimate QH spread on tetratonic decks duh... )
But on the other side, feels buffed slightly againts single target because now there is no cooldown for quickhacks and less dependent on those "buff on takedown/kill" perks.
I agree that seems now hybrid build is more promoted. Time to pick up Skippy again, I guess?
Luckily there is mods which could fix that, albeit feels off not doing it naturally.
But point-click wipe everything is not remotely interesting, when this absolutely should have been the forefront mechanic of the game
Dude preach it. I can't believe they left access points as essentially treasure chests with a different lockpicking minigame.
Physically breaching a network should have been a key mechanic, giving you a reason to stealth into a location and hang out for a bit securing your advantages before you unload digital death on everyone.
Basically you'd gate ultimate hacks behind fully breaching a network, and enemy netrunners would actually be dangerous if you didn't bother to gain that advantage first. You could add perks to be able to hack access points through line of sight or w/e but it should still be grounded in the world instead of just making the game essentially turn based right off the bat.
