I missed the netrunner build pre 2.0
Back then, could have like Cyberpsychosis quickhack running with less than 5 RAM costs, spreads to one other enemy and have contagion follow up which spreads to like 4 or 5 enemies around, with sure chance.

So where's this build now gone?? Nerfed hard?

Nerfed into nonexistence. Playing netrunner is, in my opinion, a boring chore now. Want to kill someone? You need to daisy chain 3+ quickhacks together and spend most of your RAM. Want to use more quickhacks? You can only do that on a cooldown with overclock, burning your whole hp bar.

The Tetratronic Rippler has also had its distinguishing features removed (in fact all the cyberdecks have, each has a small and inconsequential stat bonus now, there's no real variety left).

The power fantasy is gone, the freedom is gone, the variety is gone.

you can use overclock and raven cyberdeck for this now

Yup I miss it as well. There's a couple mods you can add that will help to get it closer to what it was but it's still not quite the same.

If i remember right with the old system you had to hunt figure out where what ripper Dr. had the best. The best deck was not had by all you had to find it. I still like the cyber deck system but if you per-sue it it becomes a little to over powered. With a fully developed deck You can do a system collapse every 25 seconds ish. I have heard players complain about the cyber deck expansion being to slow and or even bottle necked. If it was any easier it would be way over powered.

Netrunning is still extremely strong lol.

Only thing I dislike in 2.X is the 'tracing' part. But is easy solved with a Sonic Shock as first in the queue. The needed RAM is sometimes also a bit to much, probably done to make 'overclock' useful, but then that drains your HP..... to think of it, it is terrible now, but still strong

Hilariously incorrect.

Dunno what you're all doing wrong, but netrunning is still OP.
I've been literally jumping into the middle of fights, start queueing sets of hacks on everyone, and by the time the slowdown effect of being detected/entering combat has worn off nearly everything is dead and I've got to shoot maybe two people at most just to finish them off.

Level your gear up, use Overdrive + health/RAM recovery perks, and simply read about how decks/hacks work and interact now.

Well contagion is busted with any burn procs. Overclock is busted. Memory wipe and sonic shock are all I need for stealth.

I do not have queue, I haven't tried it cuz I haven't felt a need for it.

Tech sniper build only subs into hacks for most of the game, mainly because of ping, but even at 4 int my deck was formidable I just didn't bother with an ultimate until I got overclock.

To me it feels like most of the power is still there but the 2.0 changes to hacking are kinda lame at the same time. You click 3 hacks instead of 1 to get roughly the same effects you used to get? Oh baby peak game design. Start the trace before you start spamming system collapse for discounts? Man it's like playing chess now, so strategic! Meh...

Netrunning was boringly overpowered before, I am actually enjoying my monowire run. A+ rework.

i can see where you're coming from. netrunner was a bit op before, now it has some challenge which i can appreciate. but i can understand your frustration

Netrunning is still op but it's not fun like it was before 2.0. It has gone from my favourite build to my least favourite. It's doesn't even feel like it got a significant nerf but now it's very boring and gimmicky.
Bishop-Six Nov 22, 2023 @ 11:21am
Netrunning is way better now.

You can make combos and the quickhacks have more synergy options now. Also they are more focused for different purposes like optic-reboot for stealth-runner for example.

But seriously, if your goal was to just run around and one-tap every enemy thats fine. Mine it is not. Before 2.0 Netrunning was ridiculously overpowered to the point that you even harm your own experiences because you miss lots of content when their is basically no fight or challenge.

The weak whinge about days gone by. The strong adapt and melt brains.
