Just my opinion you lose more than you gain, but if the playthrough goal is the DLC only, then sure it will suffice.
Also, that sidequest with the two barghest kids and the generators...how do you complete it if you skipped everything?
Verios, I didn't even know about the Iguana until some days back but agreed id rather take time to play through the start again. It's a decent enough option for those wanting to just experience the DLC alone though.
Bogomore, shall check again as I said was a quick post with what I remembered from a 20-25 minute play.
