Adam Smasher is ridiculous- last phase help
Alright, I don't know what to do outside of reload a save and use an optimal build, I'm playing a netrunner build, no specific one, but i use thermal projectile launcher and contagion for the explosion combo, thats my big 'thing' not especially good at guns and kinda squishy, but nothing has prepared me for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I can get him to 25%, but he starts his missile attack, and it seems to me undodgeable, no prompt, no running can save you, it just hits, my bloodp pump vainly activates, and I'm flatlined again, I've tried:
  • shooting the missile rack, to no obvious effect
  • sprinting away, they chase and kill me
  • Hiding behind cover and the smart missiles just track around it
  • weapon glitch/reboot optics/cyberware malfunction, nothing stops it

WTF do I do, I've been at this literally a dozen times, the cutscene at the start and the bulletsponge bossfight isnt getting any shorter

All these posts always have the root in the same problem, a hard-headed player who refuses to change his/her playing style because he/she has been advancing comfortably playing the same and suddenly they come across something unfair or prepared to counteract their perfect build and now the game is bad or broken and not them 🙄

If it's not Oda it's Adam Smasher or the Chimera. Just adapt, deal with it. How much it can hurt to load the point of no return.
Well said.

The perfect build isnt a one dimensional elite expert in one thing...its actually a generalist build.
Some of ya'll really don't use you builds to the fullest, patch 2.02 on hard killed him pretty quick with knives and quick hacks, level 60.

, Same with the Chimera. you just gotta adapt
I finished him with just Rebecca's shotgun. Man went down hard
I have yet to play on the 'very hard' difficulty, but I completed this fight on 'hard' last night with a netrunner build.

For me, I immediately retreat up the stairs while stacking, contagion, overheat, detonate grenade, and cyberware malfunction. As I retreat I unload into him with the Hypercritical gun. Usually get all six shots off before he starts his charge. Usually puts him at around 50%.

After that I speed away to get space, throw two laser grenades to keep the damage tick and then continue to pelt him with Hyper rounds until my overclock comes off CD. Any missiles the gonk throws at you can be absorbed by backing behind either of the two walls to the back of the room. They run floor to ceiling and basically block his homing rounds.

Once overclock is ready, pop out and hit him with everything. Contagion, overheat, cyberware mal, synapse burn, grenade det, using the blood pump to restore more health for massive ram burn. Usually drops him, especially if you're cycling in rounds from the Hyper while waiting for the queue to open up to stack more.

Then simply stroll up, tell him Johnny says 'hi' and end it. Netrunning basically trivializes a lot of the game. Simply wish we got to keep the power bump you get to play with if you back Song in the PL storyline. Unleashing the blackwall was legit.

That was a probably the roughest fight in the game for me on 'hard' (still have to complete very hard). But it just took a little bit of strategy and using the environment properly. Had I actually possessed the Hypercritical at the time to cycle with my netrunner abilities, it would have been much easier.

Smasher lasted until my Overclock came off CD and then melted on the second full volley of netrunner abilities.
how are you losing especially as a netrunner? just queue cripple movement and cyberware malfunction and after that triple short circuit and use your strongest gun and ez win
(monowire perks makes it even easier)
No one goes for the Smart Yinglong? Got him beat with fully upgraded in 10 minutes, on Very Hard, with a SMG build (Tech, Intel, Reflex). And yes, used Cripple, Malfunction, Synopsis, and Overclock to queue. But mind to not go into the Edgerunner Cyberware Capacity (you need your full health)

Even fully kitted out with chrome, I found it super hard to get into the 'red' (edgerunner) zone as a netrunner. Still had about 40 plus points to burn before I even touched it. As for smart weapons, I find them really underwhelming early on. Once you get the perks the things spit death like any other high end gun, but that climb to get to that point can sometimes be annoying. Really need to just buckle down, swallow my ego, and give them a full run through.

The synapse burnout quickhack was fixed, but it still hits like an absolute truck if you use the queue system properly.

A+.
Just had a fight with him at yesterday (2.02).

Doing my first Reaper ending on Very Hard as netrunner (before was doing 1.xx as netrunner, 2 years back but no Reaper ending available to me). I was scared of Adam because I remember on 1.xx he had threshold below which damage was not going, so need to consider to do overclock cooldown for 3 times plus my health went drastically down due of Reaper ending. Was running from him as uploads were taking the ages. He killed me with missles eventually, no matter how fast you are - KIA.
Reloaded the fight. Uploaded WeaponMalf+CyberMalx2+Synapse. Slow as hell, then I thought why not to shoot him in between. I had Warden with me (Smart SMG). Holy shmoly, the uploads during shooting goes very fast, so I don't need wait for overclock cooldown. I've just loaded the guy with 2-3 more synapses on same overclock pipe, and done, Adam just died. No thresholds, no infantry support. Just from 70% to 0%. and dead bodies of his folks in spawn room.

With Oda it was different, I found easiest way is just to slap his sharp cheeks with a monowire. All the time he only tries to run away from you and he just can't, you need to repost him time to time for extra humiliation.

Yep, no nuance to be found here. Imagine the level of misanthropic neckbeardism required in order to be PROUD of your own utter lack of humanity and empathy.

This has been interesting (from an anthropological viewpoint, not a logical one) but I think we've exhausted this particular debate.

Feel free to continue it if you like, but you'll pretty much be debating yourself. Although I can understand if that appeals more to your usual habit and intellectual ability.

Isn’t the purpose of the game to be proud of whatever result you choose in the story ending? Proud misanthropic neckbeard here (ad hominem btw). I think the nuance here is that you signed up to protect humanity, while others of us play cyberpunk with ultimate disdain for those who are incapable of adapting to difficult gameplay. The theme of cyberpunk is to identify with or against humanity. That is the entire purpose of the game. GG 2 years old post mf
I just queue up Cyberware Malfunction, and he's a sitting duck. Are not the missile attacks signposted with a kind of orange circle on the floor? I'm assuming these are the missile attacks mentioned?
