Adam Smasher is ridiculous- last phase help
Alright, I don't know what to do outside of reload a save and use an optimal build, I'm playing a netrunner build, no specific one, but i use thermal projectile launcher and contagion for the explosion combo, thats my big 'thing' not especially good at guns and kinda squishy, but nothing has prepared me for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I can get him to 25%, but he starts his missile attack, and it seems to me undodgeable, no prompt, no running can save you, it just hits, my bloodp pump vainly activates, and I'm flatlined again, I've tried:
  • shooting the missile rack, to no obvious effect
  • sprinting away, they chase and kill me
  • Hiding behind cover and the smart missiles just track around it
  • weapon glitch/reboot optics/cyberware malfunction, nothing stops it

WTF do I do, I've been at this literally a dozen times, the cutscene at the start and the bulletsponge bossfight isnt getting any shorter

Have you tried simply running up to him, and hugging him with nuclear arms?

I have just started playing again since the new update and DLC so this may not apply. But prior when I was running a squishy netrunner the Yinglong smart SMG was his nemesis. It would melt him even on Hard Dif.

I used the erebus machine gun on his head and he dropped to his knees and there a conversation to tell him this is for rogue and you finish him with either your hands crushing his head or handgun

Same same.
Not very interesting fight, extremely straight forward up to the point where i got oneshot from his missile attack. Didnt even bother trying a second time on the same difficulty level since it just felt like bad game design.

Lowered the difficulty before the fight and set it back up to max after.

I had difficulty with this fight, losing to him about four times (at Level 59, shotgun heavy build).

Then for whatever reason, I tried again on the fifth try and defeated him, seemingly arbitrarily. I'm not sure what I did different which tipped the balance - maybe I stayed really close to him so he never tried to launch the insta-kill missiles.

In any case, it was not a very interesting fight for me ("die four times until the fifth time you suddenly don't, and now you win! Yay!") and I'm probably never coming back to it again. Winning a binary challenge with no reason is only marginally less frustrating than losing a binary challenge with no reason.

I'll just roll around the main map with the BaXingChong and complete all the side quests and then uninstall the game at 100%.

I suppose the gamers who demanded "I wAnT a SeNsE oV pRiDe An AkKoMpLiShMenT!!11!" got their wish. I'll be happy if I never do that boss fight ever again.

The BaXingChong has changed a lot in v.2.0 though. It's now one of the few actual rocket launchers that V can pick up and use multiple times.

how you have problem as netrunner ? its most OP build in game =D

I killed him on hard without any problem and fight was way too easy, going on very hard but I think its don't change too much cause netrunner melt everything in few sec

Go for smart sub-machine gun, Yinglong, with full ammo filled (should be around 800 bullets). Get your perks (and cyberware) to critical damage. And keep running and shooting, the smart locks on him, and the others, but if you read what the gun does and what the weakness is of Adam.... well... you can kill him within 15 minutes or a bit longer (on very hard it took me less than 30 minutes)

Stealth takedown is possible with him. Use reboot optics and system collapse immediately at the start of the fight and run away to hide. He'll non aggro and go into stealth mode as well. Sneak behind him and take him down. You have to do it twice I believe.

That's what I did with my squishy netrunner/stealth build. Though I never managed the second takedown (was very close a couple of times) because he eventually glitched midair next to the platforms and I could just freely shoot him instead. This was on very hard.

How about coming with some tips then? SMH.

The fight is really easy, it's just that damn missile spam attack that one shots you on harder difficulties that's a pain - to the point I'd say its a pure badly designed fight. First time I died to it with my melee build, I didn't even understand what happened because of how little the game indicates what's about to happen (I haven't bothered to play the game all the way through since just after release, so I can't even remember if he had the same attack in version 1+).

My only advice is to learn the animation that plays just before he uses it and GTFO of your current position. I'm pretty sure the missile don't track, there's just a shtload of them and they have a stupid huge AOE. Some orange hit indicators will show up on the ground where the missiles will land, but just keep moving until you're well clear of them. If you've got it unlocked, air dash is your best friend, especially with the double jump legs; a jump-airdash-double jump combo will put you on the other side of the room, well clear of the attack.

If you head over to YouTube look for "Adam Smasher one shot", first video will show a Netrunner spending more time queuing up hacks than actually fighting. It's over in seconds.

I don't even use reflex or cool

Overclock > weapon glitch > synapse burnout > cripple > cynapse burn out > hide wait to instal repreat > hide > when he shoot out your cover run around

I don't even used weapon vs him just my hacks killed him
use blood pump if you lost too much hp this + hp regen from body builder is enough hp regen ^^

Synapse Burnout damage multiplier mechanic was broken in the build 2.01, it's fixed now.

In seconds? I don't think so, you mentioned using cover and running around.
