Sorry, that sounds a tad narky, not meant to be. If you loot well as you go, you will soon end up with heaps of ammo, and heaps of coin. Its just a matter of topping up after that.
I never craft ammo, hurts my immersion, I buy it. In fact I never craft anything when I'm not in my stash. Makes no sense that you are able the craft items out of thin air with your bare hands while standing on a road, imho.
In 120 hours since 2.00 dropped I ran out of one kind of ammo once, and I simply changed to a different weapon.
But fighting MaxTac... The Problem Solver thinks the ammo supply is lacking :y
crafting ammo is what breaks your immersion? seriously? in a world where i can light your literal spinal cord on fire with a computer chip in my brain? in a world where my arm can contain a rocket launcher that manufactures its own shells? in a world where laser weapons shoot through walls but still somehow require the same bullets as regular guns?
tell me you are a cognitively dissonant contrarian without telling me.
Yea, that's pretty much the only way to conserve ammo for extended combat durations.
Or run away far enough to remove Combat Status, restock, go back then kill more Barghest dogs.
Now that pistols and SMGs use the same ammo, even the 900 rounds you can carry get used up pretty quickly, and it can be strangely hard to find, compared to shotgun and sniper ammo. I practically never had to craft ammo in the old (pre 2.0) game...in 2.0 I've had to craft and buy more than I ever did.
Use that and forget about needing ammo. I love throwing rounds down range just trying to get a police missile launcher vehicle.
Even if you don't have any skill points allocated in the weapons you don't use as regular guns or your preferred guns, you still can use them.
Throwing knives cost no ammo and are kind of great to headshot with ;)
If you are going to use knives read the line that says something like "recovery time" (return time to be precise) in the knife's description. If it's low then the knife kind of sucks IMHO.
But I got the hang off conserving ammo
by playing like its DOOM Eternal
