How do you avoid the robot fight in "Treating Symptoms"?
So, clearly I'm not supposed to fight this, but I can't find a way around. What am I missing?

You fight it. No way around it.

Actually you’re supposed to turn it into metal scrap

How do you beat this as a netrunner?

If you helped the guy, shooting the servers instant kill small robots near them. Also short circuit.

Neat, except smartguns automatically target them and the big robot also blows them up. Also I’m fairly confident it only stuns them (although I could be wrong since the fight is so chaotic).

If this is the mission where there's a room with a lot of little robots and one tougher robot, there's cameras throughout the place so you can just Short Circuit pretty much every single robot until destruction before you even enter the room.

No cameras in the room and you can’t hack inactive robots (pretty sure that was the case even in 1.0).

Had to respec into tech-weapons and yeah... this fight is not made for netrunners.

Not necessary to spec into a weapon to be able to make efficient use of it.

None of the enemies down there are a threat on long distance.
Keep distance to the big guy, blow up small ones close to you with Shock or a random weapon like Fenrir.
Soon enough the big guy will be all alone.

I thought this was the toughest fight in the game. Servers did bugger all, I thought they would disable something useful once they were all gone.

You should be able to destroy in this fight as a netrunner. If you're keeping up with upgrading your hacks, perks, and your cyberware, that should carry you fine.

Lots of running, double jumping, air dashing to find new cover. Short circuit for the smaller ones, overclock for more RAM. Take out the remaining small ones with something like dual smart SMGs that reload when you switch when the robots come to close and you’re out of RAM. Eventually you’ll be able to change from avoiding the big one to whittling him down from cover. When his health is down a bit, system collapse should take care of him. (Not sure what it does on full health. Didn’t go back to try.)

The hard bit on VH is all the switching around between the things you’re doing. Keeping your eyes on the big one but also on the small ones waking up, running away, turning around, hacking, shooting, healing. It can get rather chaotic.
