DEX - Relic choice
I tried being honest and lying. Each time I was shot dead. Perhaps I exited too soon to learn what occurs. I did search for the answer but came up only confirming that my situation wasn't unique. Is there an alternative to being put down?

Thanks. After all that only to be killed kinda sucked. Appreciated

Being shot is the catalyst that starts up the relic and V's reason for going through the various main quest lines in the game. Also Johnny Silverhand. It's pretty unavoidable.

Dexter DeShawn: Thanks V, thanks for being Honest. V: No Problem Dex, "Gun Clicks" Dex WTF MAN?! Sorry V, can't risk it. Dex literally has no chill.

Dex is panicking at that point, terrified of the prospect of being hunted down by Arasaka. Not only is he making poor decisions, he's not executing them particularly smoothly, either.

no alternative, it is scripted to go down that way no matter the choices you make, as soon as you exit the bathroom you get one punched then shot.

If you look at the early trailers for this scene there was supposed to be alternative options, of you having the relic in your hand and actually fighting your way out, smoking Dex's ass.

Unfortunately game is no Witcher 3 for RPG, they had to cut corners for the main story choices past the 1st maelstrom mission and only side quests/gigs have some versality in how you approach and finish them.

Played through, took the honest track. Impressed by the plot twist. Truthfully I was enjoying the game so much I hadn't realized it didn't see its title splash screen.

Thanks for the input.

Story is on rails. The only decision that actually has consequences is one when you choose which ending you are going for, which happens at the very end. You can botch some main story quests, blocking some endings, but thats it.

Even falloput 4 had more roleplay, TBH. AT least it had sarcasm option. V only can be badass when writers feel so, and would whine when they want her to.

...and he still gets hunted down by Arasaka... or rather, Arasaka's investigator who's out looking for the thieves who may be witnesses to who really killed Saburo and not looking for the thieves as Suburo's killers.

Why kill Dex? Dex could never be trusted to stay silent or pretty much anything if his own skin was up for trade.
