Crafting and upgrading confusion
There are a few things that are confusing me about what is crafted and what can be upgraded.

#1 Weapon mods / attachments - I have what appears to be some weapons mods and attachments in my inventory, but when I go to my weapons and click the weapon it's showing no mods available? Do I not have the actual mod? Is it just a blue print?

#2 Quick hacks - So I have tier 1 ping and wanted to upgrade it to tier 2. But quick hacks never show up in the upgrade menu. So I checked crafting and noticed random quick hacks in the list of things to craft but no ping tier 2. Don't know where I got the recipes for the random quick hacks. How do I upgrade the ones I own?

Crafting is F-ed up. You can craft non-iconic weapons, but you cannot upgrade them to + or ++

Non-lethal approach is also half broken - game considers system collapse as kill. I needed to restart a whole gig because of that

Not all weapon mods are for all weapons, you may just have a problem of not having the right weapon to use said mods on. The weapon also needs to have a mod slot to slot said mod into.

Ping was removed for upgrading since the effect it used to give at legendary is now a (supposedly not working as of now) perk at max netrunner skill, mainly the ability to hack through walls.

Yeah I know only the weapons with the little dots on their icon have mod slots. I will try to get a screen shot of my inventory.

LOL figures the one QH I try to upgrade can't be. So how do you get new QH? And will all the ones I own show up in crafting so I can create the higher tier version?

I saw some quickhack schematics up for sale in Kabuki Market - these might be the ones you're looking for? (I could be wrong)

Quickhacks can be bought (the vendors will sell higher tier ones as you level up, legendary (Tier 5 now) I believe show up at level 40, but you can also craft them from your inventory, I'm not sure how the process works for getting higher tiers, but it might be as simple as just crafting the lower tier first and then the next shows up, haven't messed with netrunning as much after 2.0, keep in mind you cannot equip hacks that are higher tier than your current equipped deck now.

You can also get quickhacks from breeching data points (like the quest 'the gift' shows you)
I've had quite a few that way, seemed to drop from me breeching and hacking the ports when I managed to hack the bottom level (tier 3)
(Where as I got just money/data at tier one, then money/data/quickhack crafting components from tier two)

quickhacks don't upgrade. They are sold as dirt cheap crafting recipes. The breach puzzles will give recipes and full hacks, as well as a huge amount of crafting parts as you level up.

Weapon crafting is pretty busted. There are enough crafting parts to barely keep a few favorite items up to date. Avoid investing too heavy in cybernetic upgrades, wait for the free shop update every 10 lvls.

Wow thanks everyone. I think I found out why I couldn't use some weapons attachments. Like QH you can't attach higher tier mod on on lower tiers weapons.

I do have another question regarding grenades and healing inhalants. Can these be upgraded via crafting, or do you buy better ones from a vendor, or does it scale as you level?

You find them or buy those items. Loot/item rarity is bound to your level and therefore you can see on weapon drops where you should be or what you could buy (soon).
If you swim in materials a schematic is cheaper (Eddies) but I'd buy the item right away to save upgrade materials. As they are cooldown based you unlock it with a single buy. Finding one sometimes may switch the equipped item so watch what is in your slot.

Upgrading weapon mods is another thing. You need two of a kind to 'infuse' them into one of a higher tier in crafting menu. So 2 grey for one green, 2 green for one blue. No blueprints needed as they show as soon as you reached the next level. Buying those early on at vendors may pay off later. Or you use them right away.

In over 80 hours into the game I haven't crafted much, maybe some ammo. It's completely uninteresting and pointless. Not being able to upgrade regular weapons is dumb and annoying. Crafting is one of the weakest aspects of this game. I buy and loot everything.
