Iconic Weapons are White

Guts, Lizzie and Overwatch are all white and not Legendary Anymore making them pretty much useless for me now, meanwhile weapons that where in my stash (and NOT on the wall) are all still legendary, the shotgun Mox also lost its legendary status, Johnnys Pistol is still legendary.
Can i upgrade them to legendary somewhere?

Also Just why?
Litterly taking away the way i liked to play the game AND killing of the weapons i did enjoy ...

I know that, but that does not upgrade the rarity, its only going to 1++ and thats it.

That sounds like a bug. I started a new game with version 2.0 and I have no problems upgrading white iconics. They go from tier 1 to 1+ (consuming tier 1 item components), then to tier 2 and 2+ successively (consuming tier 2 components), and so on. I never saw a level 1++.

It sounds like in your situation, one part of the game thinks the iconics are at tier 1, while another part thinks they are already at tier 5.

Next Tier from 1+ is 2 then 2+ then 3 and so forth. At least in my game - I play with no mods.

You can, but the mats you need to upgrade come from breaking down higher and higher tier gear.

Gear tier is dependent on your player level. If you rush through the story without leveling much your enemies are easier but your gear are appropriately lower level. So are the cyberweare you can get/buy/install.

Been grind my way up, at level 35+ I'm picking up Tier 4/5 loot.

Thanks for the explanation because it was also impossible for me to find how the heck that new system now works, but im in my savegame from before the update wich i invested 120hours into to get everything but the end Quests done and i wont start a new game.

Guess its time to find a mod to upgrade them to legendary.

Can we Upgrade Skippy now? And if not what rarity is it so i can set on the right one because Hes also white ...
