Too much dialogue
Disliked pre-patch and never really got anywhere. I love the gameplay since the patch. Gunplay (especially tech weapons), skill trees, mods, cyberware everything. Vehicles are really fun too. And I think scaled enemies is perfect since they're all just humans and robots anyways.

But wtf is this amount of talking? Jesus man. Consistently 5-10+ solid minute segments of talking and slowly walking/sitting with people. I can't believe people are onboard w/this horrendous pacing. Like I dread going anywhere in the main missions and even some side stuff because its like "damn, I guess I can't have fun for X amount of time"

Currently powering thru with the C button and plan to watch a recap of what happened at some point because I cannot sit thru another 2+ hours of NPC talking.

edit: Finished game, is alright, still overall bad pacing and weak dialogue. Gunplay by far the best part.

Oh no an RPG that is dialogue heavy?! Who would've thought! It's like this for every RPG really, ur surprised that ur getting a lot of dialogue when doing side quests or main missions?
If dialogue segments stop the fun for you then maybe the game just aint for you? Cause thats one of the best parts.

sad. the dialogue and story is fantastic. sounds like RPG's aren't for you. if you want a shooter there's plenty of actual FPS games out there.
i think the combat (while fun) is the weakest part of 2077

Idk tho, I played all the way thru both divinity original sin games and read all the dialogue. I also read dense sci-fi irl. I think it's the way the dialogue is delivered in cyberpunk that is really off-putting to me. Its all delayed, has you slow walking, sitting, wasting your time. Other games seem to dump dialogue much faster and more efficiently.

1. remove subtitles
2. use the key button to skip dialogues

So go and play COD then if you want mindless shooting and nothing else

Uh what? You literally just stand still while talking in Divinity games, thats the same if not worse than Cyberpunk, in Cyberpunk you atleast move from place to place while you get dialogue. By that logic you're wasting your time sitting around listening to dialogue in Divinity games aswell.

You realize that walking around for story segments wastes more time than standing still? I like how antagonistic you are because I'm slightly criticizing your favorite game lol. Relax lil' buddy!

I wish there was more dialogue. The writing in this game is incredible, if not the actual best.

When was I antagonistic? I'm replying to you with pretty valid arguments I'd say and in a pretty calm manner. Sorry if I hurt your feelings somehow lmao.

And I dunno man, actually seeing different places and walking around while getting story is more fun and immersive than sitting in one place, maybe it takes more time sure.
This is an "agree to disagree" situation. I might sound insane to some people, but actually sitting in a car, watching the city go back and talking to characters, those are probably some of my favorite moments in this game. Taking time to really flesh out these characters, interact with them, almost live in the city itself for a brief moment, I think the slow pacing is really great for all this. Dare I say, it almost feels like an interactive movie! And honestly, every open world game is like this. There's a reason no one plays the main quest of Skyrim. If you're not liking the dialouge and cutscenes for whatever reason, maybe this just isn't the game for you. Maybe try Doom Eternal or Super Mario 64, or Bubsy, those are all super light on story.

If you're not enjoying the dialogue then any extended amount is going to be irritating. Nothing wrong with that if you just don't get on with a game - I personally have never liked the tone Larian writers adopt and really struggle to wade through their games as a result.

Would think at this point most people would know what to expect from Cyberpunk 2077, or TW3 for that matter, but if your tastes aren't into extended conversations as an abusive husband tries to excuse himself or having a psychotherapy session with an AI controlled callgirl then CDPR are possibly not making games you'll enjoy playing.

Different strokes for different folks. I like it. If I'm not in the mood to dive into story stuff I'll just run around and do gigs and scanner hustles.
