I was still on 1.6.1 until I made the leap (with 130+mods) to 2.0 and PL
Open it with Wordpad
Find a "LastOwner" line and create a new one underneath by pressing Enter
Put in "UpdateResult" "0"
Close and save the file.
Shoulld work for a while until Steam decides to update that file with new update search result. Just repeat process in that case and reboot Steam. This worked for me when I downgraded from 2.01 to 2.0.
most likely because Steam already searched for an update and there is none (obviously). It will seach again and will find 2.02 when it releases. By adding this value back in it will turn blind to the update for some time (usually a day or so). Just disable auto-update for 2077 and when it will be available just make the change to the file I mentioned.
No, it is essentially an Offline mode - no achievements or hours recorded - but the idea is that it is temporary until mod authors get a chance to update the key mods - can take up to a week for what will likely be a minor update. For me, I don't really care about achievements, so I was happy to stay offline until PL dropped..
NOT the REDprelauncher.exe in the games root directory
I only mention this to help prevent others from accidentally running the game with the first executable they find and ending up causing the update they are trying to avoid.
