Phantom Liberty DLC: An add-on or a new campaign?
Hello everyone,

I have a quick question about the paid DLC. I looked at the DLC Steam page, and I'm not entirely certain about the answer.

Does this DLC add new areas/weapons/etc to the current game (like the Witcher 3 DLC)? Or is it an entirely different 'campaign' (for lack of a better term) that requires a new save?

Thanks a lot,
Sam

It's an entirely different campaign tied into your game, so no new save needed.

It adds:

- a new campaign
- a new area
- a dozen or so gigs
- new cloths
- a (small) new skill tree
- a new possible ending
- and just to make sure I didn't forget anything... a lot more!

Addon.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks a lot for clearing that up, everyone.

Just to make sure; are there any issues with using a current savegame? Or is it better to start an entirely new save? It might be a while before I buy this.

I started a new game with 2.0 because they changed the core gameplay so much I thought it would be too hard to adapt from an endgame character having to re-assign all skillpoints in a new system, apart from that it was a good excuse to replay the whole game. :D

If you've already got a 2.0 character you're definitely good to go.

There is also an option to start a new advanced character to play the DLC.

Okay, thanks a lot for the advice everyone. Sounds like starting a new game would be a good idea then.

It's the same deal as the Hearts of Stone DLC for Witcher 3 in terms of content.

You can carry on with your current character, start a new character and play the main game until you reach the DLC, or you can start a new character specifically for the DLC same as the Witcher 3 DLC's do.
