So Mi or Reed [Minor Spoilers]
After playing both "endings" I gotta say Reed is hands down the better option - both for length of gameplay and storytelling.

By the time you're given a choice to side with one or the other, So Mi is completely unreliable judging from the dialogue options you get leading up to that point. So for anyone nearing that point or looking ahead for roleplaying purposes, Reed is probably your best bet for several reasons:

- Length of play.
- Has impact on main game,
- Justifies (possibly) killing Hanson.
- Opens up new side quests.
- Reed is very much a mirror of Johnny.
- So Mi isn't reliable and is extremely dangerous to herself and everyone else.
- Only way to go if you "took the oath"

Ultimately, it depends on how you roleplay V.

Any thoughts?

I thought at first So Mi is the "righteous" thing to do. But it isn't that easy. In hindside, Reed is indeed the better one [for me]. Poor Alex though - good thing we at least had a drink / nice evening together. :steamsad:

I would try to be sly by sliding to a friend its Songbird who hired you with the promise of a cure, so dont take a vow that might come between that until done with whatever you are doing with her.

Length of play ´cause of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Cerberus and this mission. Although the ending where you kill So Mi is the good sad ending for me.

It's a fair point to say that V's original employer was/is Songbird and thus it makes narrative sense to stick with her. Unfortunately, I think if the player decides to "take the oath", then it changes the equation.

Edit: However, I often thing there's several parallels to characters from the main game. In many ways, So Mi is Evelyn and Reed is Deshawn, if Deshawn had a shred of honor.

So Mi. Despite all ♥♥♥♥ V got opportunity to save someone in similar to his/her desperate situation. Even in worse, because V not treated as corporate pet and dealing with human engram not rogue AIs beyond Blackwall.
V can swing some magical wand making a dream to come true. Something which he/she have no luck to had. King of Wands.
Reed, however, he have died long ago in that train. No Reed anymore, just blind NUSA obeing dog.

The only reason I couldn't go with reed because he's too loyal to the government too the point it's criminal in itself.
So mi was dying and did what she could

Man, just finished the DLC and I sided with Reed because So Mi was being manipulative from the get go, she orchestrated everything, she was selling her president, why would I expect any better from her? She also asked me to leave Reed and Alex behind during the mission, which implied leaving them both to die, while Reed never wanted to leave anyone behind. He was there to help her after she betrayed him, meanwhile she wanted to betray him again. If you put any thought into it, Reed is the best choice.

Sure, but by the point that you have to make the choice, it's already apparent that Songbird hoodwinked you, and that her promises may be as empty as everything else she said.

So Mi. Yes she lied, because she wanted to live. Like V. But V has pretty much no chance at any sort of life beyond the short term, so saving her it was.

Reed's a zealot. Enjoyed wasting him.

Gameplay wise I think that both routes have fun content, however siding with Reed opens up the whole Cynosure part which was an absolute blast.
I've seen a lot of people online complaining about it but I have to say that the "horror" aspect(if you can even call it that) was super cool. You also gain access to the Cerberus core for some added fun.

Depending on who you'd rather side with I think that either the King of Cups or King of Wands is the route to go. Maybe do King of Pentacles if you want to get the tower ending, but story wise I'd recommend the first two I mentioned. Honestly it's hard to say what ending is best, they all have their own drawbacks.

siding with reed is the best way, while saving So Mi. you get the best possible outcome for everyone, and most importantly for V, although its a bitter sweet ending, if it was real life, thats the ending i would want for myself out of all the dlc endings.

So Mi for me too.
Surviving isn't enough imo: it's the price you put on your life that matter.
And maybe my V is Johnny flavoured now, but selling yourself to a corpo or a government, just isn’t life. As it isn’t a life worth living if it is emptied of chooms to live with (which is why, Don’t Fear the Reaper is my preferred ending).
And if my V cannot save himself at his conditions, at least let him save someone who's his mirror, just as flawed and dying and scared, even without a dead rockerboy in the head.

It's really kinda awkward with all the rewrites, and it could have used another act or two in the story, but I'm still glad they didn't make Song into a one dimensional 'good' character like CDPR apparently had originally planned.

At the very least, all the controversy surrounding her is fun to read.
