I don't understand the reasoning about the wear too, the main game uses the full display without problems, spending -even- ten minutes in the menu reading stuff or crafting things will not damage your display by any mean.
If for some reason you often leave the game running when you're not in front the screen, just use a screen saver, that's most likely an issue, but regular gaming on CP is pretty fine.
Also - yes, i own a 21:9 monitor.

The thing is, I can spend an hour or two in the menu between looking at maps, inventory, character builds etc... and I have an OLED monitor, I need to minimize that kind of usage, heck since gotten this monitor, I rarely playback 16:9 videos on full screen, I used to not care about that at all with IPS monitors.
Oled? That could be a problem then. Mind you, any game standard UI may not help much either.
