Inconsistent highlighting from optics, or misunderstanding?
I've been noticing this issue across multiple builds with multiple different optics. For example, Tier 2 "Clairvoyant" optics say this:

Effect active while scanning:
Highlights enemies within 12.5 meters.
The effect remains active for 60 seconds after scanning.

However, when I either toggle scan or tap scan for quick info or hold it, enemies simply won't be highlighted, even if I'm right next to them. However, sometimes it will highlight enemies from far away even through multiple walls and the effect works just fine. I've noticed the same issue with the "Doomsayer" optics as well, where explosive canisters just won't be highlighted sometimes. Is anyone else having this issue, or am I just misunderstanding the "highlight" effect?

I was just trying to find any info on this as well. I have Oracle optics, but regardless of optics I've had issues with enemies not being highlighted properly. Cameras especially- that was the entire reason I went with Oracle over Stalker, etc...

This is an old issue even for pings, where it can decide any given piece of furniture is super opaque forever. I expect it feels even worse when running into old jank in new ways for close range only highlighters meant to aid people without decks who still want a preview of who to stab/shoot first.

If you get tired of wrestling with highlighting issues, but also don't have the cyber points to spare for high crit eyes or something. Don't forget the generic kiroshi eyes have a bonus against camera spot times. Which has been useful for, you guessed it, when highlights do not reveal the next camera 20 feet away around an open corner.

Every time I think about trading them away for different eyeballs, they save my ass from a camera not getting highlighted.
