Realistically, though, romances in RPGs tend to be pretty lame, and even with dozens of options I'd probably still default to Panam just because she's story-centric and such a great character overall.

No. "PlayerSexual" hurts the narrative by disrespecting the characters and making compelling interactions into a weak AO game. Baldurs Gate 3 would have been 10x better if they took the time to make the characters concrete. Cyberpunk2077 did it right, respected the characters, and made choices.
