I played several times with very hard but its just making the enemies bullet sponges and kills immersion imo.
Hard is the sweet spot between challenging but not being too harsh, you can have relaxed fights without dying from 1 bullet when you dont pay attention.
I wouldnt listen to the "only maximum difficulty" crowd. Often its false pride and i saw several threads already from dudes who fell into this trap and killed their own fun with that game.
Its a story based RPG, so no need for min-maxing your character. Play on hard, have good times and freedom for unconventional builds / weapons. No need for "meta-builds".
Just my 2 cents from someone who is a bit older too ;)
Cyberpunk on Very Hard is easy. Enemies can't jump, and can only climb ladders. Bosses - yes, that's another story and will require some brain work (like 5% maybe).
Overall, while the level of challenge has been quite good so far, and way better than the original game, I periodically think about shifting it back down to hard and just taking off my armor, cutting back cyberware, dropping body stats etc Looking back, playing hard when my V was early on and pretty squishy felt much snappier and prob more fun.
