Removing weapon mods
Hello
Is there a mod to remove weapon modifications?

i dont know whoever idea it was.
But its the dumbest decision ever you can make that it is not possible to remove weapon mods in CP 2.0.

I can change Cyberware anywhere and anytime. But Weapon Mods are not removable. Cmon! Is there a mod for this failure?

Go to Nexus Mods, and search for "Unequip Mods". When it is installed and activated, pointing a weapon mod with mouse and pressing Mouse Middle will return the mod to your backpack. "Unequip Mods" works in patch 1.63 and patch 2.0.

Silly that you can't remove mods..

Apparently by design. I opened a ticket for it with patch 2.12 and they said it should be possible to remove scope attachments but not mods.
So yes, nexus mods for unequipping it is.

The whole weapon mod situation was a change in Patch 2.0. The current best practice (IMO) is to collect mods, either though purchase or discovery, and upgrade them as you need them. You will be replacing weapons with higher-Tier units as you progress through the game. Many weapons you find/pick up will have mods attached and it's a matter of luck if they are the mods you want, but you can try and make do with them. Weapons you buy in shops, or craft, will have empty mods slots and you can install mods you want from your collection. Tip: Don't install a lower-Tier mod on a higher-Tier weapon. Consider very carefully what mods you are installing on a high-Tier weapon you want to hang on to. It may be better to leave a weapon unmodded until you have _exactly_ the mod you want.

Also note that X-Mod weapons _can_ accept new mods, while the old mods will be destroyed (rather like the pre-2.0 system). In the current game, however, you don't need a high level in Tech and a specific Perk to do this. Also, there are a few rare weapons and mods that work differently, so be sure to read the weapon spec-sheets on Iconic weapons and mods.
