His name is Mark Meer, but yes. That time they were both doing Stern Action Man voice, but people still deluded themselves to think that Jennifer Hale had a more emotive voice anyway. Considering people feel like periods at the end of text messages make them sound aggressive now, I would guess the underlying problem in the RPG player community is some kind of issue with male authority.
You could be right.
The same was said of male Eivor vs female Eivor in AC: Valhalla. Clearly male Eirvor is better suited, better spoken and far more fitting a viking.

There couldn't even be a snowballs chance in hell female Eivor could be considered better suited or even better acted than male Eivor.
Then again, I think it's just a bunch of arguing over nothing. 99% of people couldn't give a ♥♥♥♥. They play what they play and first time around that generally tends to be the gender of the person playing the character at least first time around where gender may have an impact. Because the majority of gamers(Not including mobile gaming) consists primarily of males you're going to see this reflected in the characters players choose where gender has an impact.
Also, I know the myth about how it's "55%/53% male to 47% female" "gamers" but this data stems from one key question: "Have you played a video game this year." When further broken down and asked if they consider themselves "gamers" only 9% of women considered themselves a "gamer" compared to 33% of men(Over three times the number of female "gamers"). So, no... it's not 50/50 or close to it. It's nowhere near 50/50. Gaming is predominantly male.
I always play male V, his accent fits the streetkid vibe I'm after.
Jennifer Hale was definetely better in Mass Effect 1 and maybe 2. Mark Meer stepped it up in Mass Effect 3, and I overall think male Shepard fits the setting better.
Cyberpunk is a different story, V is an punk mercenary, not a soldier or an action hero. Female V acting fits the character better than male V
haha Mass Effect is the reason I'll usually choose female voice actor over male these days. That said, I think male V does a better job. I don't know, something about the world of Cyberpunk 2077 lends to the grittier vocal delivery in my opinion. Some of Fem V's lines make me cringe because I don't buy the delivery. That said, Judy is the better romance so I still choose fem V half the time.
Why should they?
